Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Yeah, I'm hoping that's at least part of the explanation. It's certainly true that RPG books sales rankings continue to go down across the board: Wildemount: 146 D&D 5E PH: 316 PF2 Core: 10,353

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

The corona virus fears really seem to be slamming the sales of TTRPG books across the board. In the last 5 or so days PF2 core book sales have consistently slumped into the 7000s (currently 7037). More shockingly, the D&D 5e players handbook has dropped out of the top 100 for the first time...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Yeah, and the D&D 5e players handbook is down too, at 82. Maybe this is a “low tide” time of day for RPG sales in general? Or it could be that Coronavirus fears have been depressing sales for games that involve meeting a bunch of people face to face for several hours...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Looks like PF2 CRB broke the “2000” ceiling. (It’s currently at 1784.) I haven’t seen that since I started checking it’s Amazon rankings.

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Just to be clear, Paizo definitely isn’t (re)printing any more PF1 hardcovers. The only PF1 products they’re printing are pocket editions of PF1 rulebooks that have sold out. FWIW, here’s what they’ve said about PF1 support, moving forward: “We've poured our hearts and souls into Pathfinder...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

I’m pretty sure this is just some weirdness on Amazon’s end. I mean, Paizo has announced in the last month or two that they’re coming out with new pocket editions of several more PF1 books now that they’ve sold out of the originals.

Surprisingly, Paizo is continuing to support and print all of their hardcover PF1 products. It’s just that they’re reprinting them as pocket editions. See, for example, here, and here.

Pathfinder 2E Play report (Extinction Curse spoilers)

Out of curiosity, did any of the PCs use hero points against the hazard? The PF2 APs seems to be balanced around the idea that PCs will have plenty of hero points, and use them. So if the players haven’t gotten used to using hero points at opportune times, that can make things harder for the PCs.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E's reception?

Yeah, I find it surprising as well. As far as I can tell, Roll20 only has support for one PF2 adventure, The Fall of Plaguestone. And that's just a standalone introductory module, not an AP module. Whereas Fantasy Grounds already has support for every PF2 AP module, including the one just...

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E's reception?

Unfortunately, as things stand, I don't think Roll20 usage stats are going to be very helpful. This is because Roll20 has yet to support any of the PF2 adventure path modules. And since the Pathfinder APs are a big reason many fans of Pathfinder play the game, Roll20's lack of support means that...

Pathfinder 2E Biggest Confusions Moving from 1e to 2e?

There's a helpful thread here describing common mistakes made by people moving from PF1 to PF2. (At least I found it helpful!)

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Yeah, there’s definitely a bit of variation from hour to hour with respect to their relative ranks. (Right now the PF2 CRB is 4186, and the 5e PHB is 51.) But as far as I can tell, their general trajectories are pretty strongly correlated. E.g., when the PF2 CRB was reliably in the 2000s for...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2e: Actual Play Experience

Barbarians and Champions can also get attacks of opportunity, although (like Rangers) they have to spend a feat to get it, and it’s not available until later (6th level).

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

I’ve been checking the D&D PHB rank along with the PF2 CRB rank, and I’ve found their movements to be pretty closely correlated. E.g., when the PF2 CRB was in the 2000s the D&D PHB rank was around 30, when the PF2 CRB was in the low 5000s the D&D PHB rank was around 60, and now that the PF2 CRB...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

After poking around a bit, I found another estimator, TCK Publishing's Amazon Book Sales Calculator (using the sales per month entry) which yields significantly larger differences. It puts D&D PHB sales at about 15-20 times those of the PF2 CRB, and PF2 Bestiary sales at about 40% of the PF2...

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Wow. That is surprising. That sales estimator also makes me look at the PF2 Bestiary numbers in a different light. According to the sales estimator, for every 5 PF2 CRB sales there are about 4 PF2 Bestiary sales. So the PF2 Bestiary is selling almost as well as the PF2 CRB.

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

And after a solid week in the 2000s, it's finally broken the 2000 ceiling (with the PF2 CRB at #1984, and the PF2 Bestiary at #8892). No idea why.

Pathfinder 2E PF 2 Demo- Curiosity wins out

Paizo has pre-generated characters of levels 1, 3 and 5 available here: https://paizo.com/products/btq01zt5?Community-Use-Package-PF2E-Iconics-Pregenerated-Characters Is that the kind of thing you were looking for? (Or were you looking for something higher level?)

Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

Ah, good. That explains it. The complete lack of the D&D PHB made me wonder whether Diamond just didn't distribute it. But then I couldn't figure out why there were still some products labelled "WotC" on the list... Yeah, no question. Amazon is a behemoth, and the fact that any RPG book has...
