The corona virus fears really seem to be slamming the sales of TTRPG books across the board. In the last 5 or so days PF2 core book sales have consistently slumped into the 7000s (currently 7037). More shockingly, the D&D 5e players handbook has dropped out of the top 100 for the first time...

Yeah, and the D&D 5e players handbook is down too, at 82. Maybe this is a “low tide” time of day for RPG sales in general? Or it could be that Coronavirus fears have been depressing sales for games that involve meeting a bunch of people face to face for several hours...

Looks like PF2 CRB broke the “2000” ceiling. (It’s currently at 1784.) I haven’t seen that since I started checking it’s Amazon rankings.

I’m pretty sure this is just some weirdness on Amazon’s end. I mean, Paizo has announced in the last month or two that they’re coming out with new pocket editions of several more PF1 books now that they’ve sold out of the originals.

Surprisingly, Paizo is continuing to support and print all of their hardcover PF1 products. It’s just that they’re reprinting them as pocket editions. See, for example, here, and here.

Out of curiosity, did any of the PCs use hero points against the hazard? The PF2 APs seems to be balanced around the idea that PCs will have plenty of hero points, and use them. So if the players haven’t gotten used to using hero points at opportune times, that can make things harder for the PCs.

After poking around a bit, I found another estimator, TCK Publishing's Amazon Book Sales Calculator (using the sales per month entry) which yields significantly larger differences. It puts D&D PHB sales at about 15-20 times those of the PF2 CRB, and PF2 Bestiary sales at about 40% of the PF2...

Wow. That is surprising. That sales estimator also makes me look at the PF2 Bestiary numbers in a different light. According to the sales estimator, for every 5 PF2 CRB sales there are about 4 PF2 Bestiary sales. So the PF2 Bestiary is selling almost as well as the PF2 CRB.

And after a solid week in the 2000s, it's finally broken the 2000 ceiling (with the PF2 CRB at #1984, and the PF2 Bestiary at #8892). No idea why.
