D&D 5E (2014) Running a Maze: Is there a better way to do it?

Don't let them draw a map. If they insist on drawing a map, use gradual inclines and elevations so that the tunnels overlap, making any map they draw overly complicated, until they give up on drawing a map.

    D&D 5E (2014) [Out of the Abyss]Magic item distribution?

I grew up with Magical items being the things of Legend. Arthur had Excalibur and those Dungeons & Dragons kids each had items that would Legendary by 5E standards, at first level. Frodo and Bilbo have a Ring of Invisibility. Heck, ANYONE who has a magic item that is worth remembering probably...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizard vs Sorcerer

Bigby's Hand requires concentration, does that not stop you from casting any other spells ?

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon Master's Guild: The Long Term

It's hard to right a proper review without thoroughly reading a product. Unless I really love a product, more often than not I'm just skimming though it to see if it's worth using, or if it's the right fit for my gaming needs. 5 Star Reviews of "It's Great" may benefit the author but they do...

    Illusions and Passive Investigation

Passive investigation like that would pretty much destroy the usefulness of illusions. It would be an arms race and illusionists would be at a disadvantage. Base DC for Illusion = 8 + Ability MOD + Prof Bonus Passive Investigation = 10 + Ability MOD + Prof Bonus Any Wizard worth his salt who...

    D&D 5E (2014) Resilient Feat

If a player wants to invest his feats into Resilient, I'm more than happy to let them. Is a player being proficient in 4 saves, after 8 levels and 2 feats invested, going to harm the other players in any way ? No, it is not going to harm other players, in what should be a co-operative game...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon Master's Guild: The Long Term

Are you ignorant of the existance of RPGNOW , DRIIVETHRURPG , and En5ider ?

D&D 5E (2014) DM's Guild: What caught your eye, and why did you buy it?

I think they are just getting caught up in the idea of making look like pages from a 5E book , and not considering anyone actually printing them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon Master's Guild: The Long Term

There is really no way to predict what it will look like in 5-10 years, but the APP store model seems pretty likely, if it remains successful. I imagine that cheap($1-2) and free content would dominate, since it's in the impulse buy range, and that content that really deserves $20+ will remain...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon Master's Guild: The Long Term

DMsGuild builds hype for 5E, and generates revunue with no labor involved. It also feeds the insatiable need some people have for new content.

D&D 5E (2014) DM's Guild: What caught your eye, and why did you buy it?

Honestly, since we have little idea of the quality before purchasing, I've kept myself to "Free" and "Pay What You Want". For the "Pay What You Want" titles I've been paying $.25 a title. If I really like it, I'll go back and pay more. Matthew Mercer is the only author that I recognized, and...

D&D 5E (2014) Ruminations on Overpowered Feats and Crafting New Feats

The 5E feats are all stand alone abilities. That's a huge improvement over the 3E Feat trees that required incrimental feats, just to get the useful ability you wanted levels down the line.

D&D 5E (2014) Ruminations on Overpowered Feats and Crafting New Feats

FEATS were my favorite addition to D&D back when 3E dropped. They allow your characters to do interesting things. FEATS in 5E have to some ways been scaled back, no more absurd feat trees and feats required for other feats, while the fewer remaining feats are often as good as 2 older edition...

D&D 5E (2014) How Murder Hobo is Your Party

My group will gladly attempt nonviolent solutions but, when those fail, complete annihilation, desecration, salting the Earth, and poisoning the wells are all viable options. They are also paranoid, so sometimes things escalte out of proportion. DM: It appears to be a sentient Gelatonous Cube...

    D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Champion

I'm going to agree with the others that feel that changes are not neccesary, and the ones proposed are excessive. Although, I must admit I wouldn't be opposed to the crit ranges being 1 higher than they currently are.

    D&D 5E (2014) DM's Guild: The Advice You Didn't Ask For

WOTC isn't going to vet any of these. They found a way to make 10% of the sales, of enthusaistic fan content, with ZERO labor on their part. It's pretty ingenius.

    D&D 5E (2014) Expected Additions to SRD 1.2

Game mechanics are not protected under copyright but names can be. If "Wild Mage" were in the SRD, then by OGL you could publish your own "Wild Mage" rules. The OGL and DMguild serve simialr but different purposes. The OGL lets you do your own thing, that's compatible with D&D, but may or...

    D&D 5E (2014) Expected Additions to SRD 1.2

I think them not being able to is the point. If you want to make something that ties to D&D so closely that your referencing official D&D stuff and not your own creations they want you to use the DMguild

    D&D 5E (2014) Printing Out The SRD 5.0

http://printme1.com/ would print, bind, and ship it to the US for about $25. I've used them to print multiple RPG books in the past.
