I would like to see more done with gods + followers other than Paladine, Takhisis and the 3 gods of magic. Many could not name more than a couple of others and describe them.

The elves didn't stop worshipping them despite being put on block. Same with Dwarves an Reorx.

There is always exceptions, the Elves in this case largely kept to themselves. In fact the whole of Ansalon was insular and stand offish.

The whole population was angry and blaimed the gods and stopped worshipping them, centuries later forgot them largely.

You both can be correct here. The argument that choice allows for both good and evil outcomes equates to neutrality has merit, just as protecting choice is good because good done by choice and not by force is good at its best.

I think the Solamnic Knights were an example of Law out of control. So codified and rigid in what they could do and how to do it, their ability to do good... or anything was hindered.

Another thing to consider is that D&D throughout all it's settings throws around cataclysmic events all too often and often as a first resort.

One could say that Paladine had only 2 other choices. Turn the Knights of Solamnia against the Istar or allow Takhisis to do so. Both unpalatable.

With the themes that DL has at it's core something pertinent that DL pushes that is poignant to the discussion is that evil is inherently self destructive and good left unchecked becomes evil.

My main problem with the DL Gods is with Paladine. He seemed to be solely focused on maintaining balance and free will, not promoting and doing good. While Takhisis was focused on doing and championing evil, meanwhile Paladine was more actively being and promoting Neutrality than even the...

Just read the new write up of Tanis Half Elven. They ....um smoothed out his origin for the sensitive of pallet yet loud of opinion. Whilst his original circumstances were not kind, they were informative of the times (in world) and of the Qualinosti.

Aside from Disadvantage on Stealth what more is there to affect armor choice then highest AC? This is the consequences of oversimplification.

As times moves along D&D classes seem to get more and more self-referential, so it will get harder and harder to compare classes like Ranger with other media. Magic wise I would have liked to see a greater attempt to do a more skill/tool based magic instead of spells.

I think that edition already exists.
