D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

    1. There is a difference between agency and power. 2. It does not matter if you benefit from a spell if you are just along for the ride.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

It's almost like when it comes to non spellcasters agency is four letter word.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

Dozens of the Fighter's "good ideas" will still mean a journey of 100's of miles will still take weeks, whilst the Wizard's Teleport spell will take moments, no "good idea" required. But it is all the same now isn't it? No difference in agency at all.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

Good ideas do not always come freely nor do they reduce the disparity in agency. Saying that the other classes don't need the spells or abilities is wasted effort to type because in this reality they have them and the Fighter does not, and it would be a pretty poor spellcaster without spells.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

Do you know which other classes can do that? Surprise....all of them. All the others also get spells or abilities (or both) on top of that.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

I simplified my explanation so as to not write a novel. to cut it all down to the barest of bones is Emotional Impact vs Factual Operation.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

Aesthetics is look and feel. Buffing or nerfing is changing mechanics which affects how it actually works and operates, which is more than changing aesthetics or to be more accurate it can (but not always) do both.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

In a fantasy world there are ways a mortal could go beyond what a standard mortal can accomplish without magic. 1. Being A Hero: It is a fantasy trope that the fact that a mortal is a hero means that they can go above and beyond mortal limits. 2. Fate/Destiny (or whatever one of a million...

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

Whilst your statement is true, the Fighter is often beaten back into place all too often by those dual wielding the sticks of "realism" and "verisimilitude". It happens so often many believe that as soon as you use one of those two words you are trying to halt any change to the Fighter. The only...

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

There is a difference between being shackled by tradition and maintaining identity and/or flavour.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

Tradition has been and probably will always be D&D's greatest shackle. The fastest and easiest way for me to lose any respect for a point, argument or position is for your main point to be from a position of tradition.

D&D 5E (2014) What are the "True Issues" with 5e?

The Monk.......just everything about the Monk.

Spelljammer WTF Spelljamming? (5e) Orbital Mechanics

The rules that are there are mostly fine if not over simplified. The list I gave are things that I believe are necessary but are not there. The rules in SJ are very minimum effort, both in what is present and the rules themselves.

Spelljammer WTF Spelljamming? (5e) Orbital Mechanics

Other missing rules: Ship and hazard Detection / Tracking rules Chase rules Navigation rules Wildspace Hazards Ship building All of the above a pretty basic needs and I am sure I am missing quite a bit more that could make the game better, the above are just missing basics.

Spelljammer WTF Spelljamming? (5e) Orbital Mechanics

My problem with 5e Spelljammer is not about what's there but all the things that are not. Some basic orbit mechanics is just one of those basic ideas that are not present in the book.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

There is always at least one that thinks that an ASI will fix the Fighter's issues, no matter how many times it gets debunked.

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Survey Feedback: Weapon Mastery Spectacular; Warlock and Wizard Mixed Reactions

The designers completely ignored the Fighter's out of combat agency issues once again. The Fighter still sacrifices all out of combat ability for nothing of worth.

    This Worries Me a Little...

soot, charcoal, clays, mud, etc are all things that have historically been used as camouflage "paint". It was what was at hand and worked to varying degrees and has absolutely nothing to do with race. At some point of can we can't we will someone be offended gets out of hand and we just have to...

I understand that point, I was discussing another point. At any rate I agree you do the work and you get paid for it till copyright runs out.
