WotC WotC: 'Artists Must Refrain From Using AI Art Generation'

Considering how small profit margins are for the smaller creators is that a bad thing? Also the comment you replied to said nothing about pricing just volume and competition.

WotC WotC: 'Artists Must Refrain From Using AI Art Generation'

AI art for RPG could make books more affordable for the smaller members of the industry by saving money on the art budget which for some by my understanding is more than a small part of the production cost. More competition could one would hope create greater choice for consumers ie us, whilst...

WotC WotC: 'Artists Must Refrain From Using AI Art Generation'

It's amazing how with some jobs being replaced by technology the answer by the public is a shrug of the shoulder at most whilst with others it is pitch forks and torches. Digital cameras meant that everybody employed to print photos, make and repair the machines lost their job in a fairly short...

D&D General Should D&D Be "Hard"

Too hard hurts a game but too simple more so because it removes design space and granularity.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bigby's Big Book of Giants

I would of liked to see the old Giant Slayer kit turned into a subclass. which could serve against all large+ creatures for which at mid levels onwards you face an increasing amount of.

    D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Playtest Document: 77 Pages, 7 Classes, & More!

The shackles of backwards compatibility and their natural timidity for anything that is not a full spellcaster has led us to where we are, I don't see classes going further than they are. Spells for the most part that are not class specific will be largely untouched the same for monsters except...

D&D 5E (2024) Weapon Masteries too Ubiquitous? New Fighter ability suggestion.

The problem with hedging on the 2 extra ASI's is that by the time you get the second one most campaigns are either over or nearly so. On top of that too many people stated that these fixed the Fighter's woes, it was to maintain damage parity, shore up weak defences, add social ability and add...

D&D 5E (2024) Weapon Masteries too Ubiquitous? New Fighter ability suggestion.

As good as Action Surge is as an ability, you are still only doing what you are already doing but more of. You are still only doing the attack action, a movement or an ability check. These are all things every other class can do, so as great an ability as it is it is still not introducing an...

D&D 5E (2024) Weapon Masteries too Ubiquitous? New Fighter ability suggestion.

What does a Fighter do that no other class can do? What does a Fighter do at 20th level that it was not doing at 1st level? The Fighter needs abilities that have it carrying out actions that no other class can. The Fight needs to be carrying out actions at higher levels that it could not at...

I see that the SSS has allowed this to go on for longer than usual!

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

The problem with only allowing additive is that the Fighter was designed to cover all warrior type martial archetypes so they have refused to do further, once again only casters are allowed more. Due to this I would be happy for demands of additive and everydayman only to be thoroughly...

A warrior archetype that a lot of myths speak of but does not get bought up a lot, the Warrior Philosopher archetype.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

You are expecting a lot out of one action. In either case you are likely using multiple actions and are still not affecting the encounter as much as the single casting. I should of posed my question earlier better, lets say the Wizard is your ally is there anything you can do as a 5th level...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I have never seen martial character enact a single action that had more effect on an encounter than a single casting of Hypnotic Pattern.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

Arguments like Fighters can improvise, can get magic items or feats and other such BS read to me as "I want Fighters to suck and I know that I have no good reason".
