This right here. This acquisition by itself addresses none of the challenges that have been in place. Even without an acquisition, a "new print format" that would protect against someone just opening a book to find a code would have made the synergy between physical and digital products easier...

We would all love that, of course, but I'm curious how you think they would implement it. I don't see any way that Wizards acquiring D&D Beyond impacts the challenges that have prevented them from linking physical to digital thus far.

Some of the characters from the cartoon were also featured in the Secret Lair drop for the Forgotten Realms Magic the Gathering set. I nabbed a few of those just because I loved the cartoon so much.

They include the Satyr race from the Theros book, but they don't include the Leonin race which is specific to the Magic universe, so it tracks that Owlin would also not get ported over. See also their inclusion of Centaur and Minotaur while excluding Loxodon, Simic Hybrid, and Veldaken.

IIRC they said they would update errata for free. These changes are not yet officially errata so they're technically different entities altogether. Once Wizards releases errata for any specific monster or race that commits the changes for future printings of the original sourcebooks, D&D Beyond...

Until Wizards releases official errata for the original sourcebooks with all of these changes, I suspect D&D Beyond will offer two separate versions of everything, regardless of how inconvenient (or convenient depending on your perspective) that might be. We haven't really had to deal with this...
