4E version of To Slay A Dragon

Considering that "very soon" was three years ago, can we assume that this project was cancelled?

I would love to have access to your notes on the play. Danish is not a problem... unless it's spoken. :p

Which 'foreign' languages have seen D&D?

I didn't say it was a good translation, only that I was pretty deliberate. :) I know. We were actually down in Stuttgart for three weeks in the summer of '86 and spent almost every day at their offices there. The printing of D&D products (at least at that time) was done at a printing company...

Which 'foreign' languages have seen D&D?

Surely, the translation of Basic D&D by FSV was pretty deliberate? Deliberate enough to make TSR force us to print our swedish Basic Sets at FSV. :( As seen in Javier Murillos outstanding collection, both Basic Set and Expert Set was published in swedish. AD&D 2e Player's Handbook was also...

    D&D 4E Who's still playing 4E

Well, one place you might have seen it is in this very thread (post #28). But I suppose more people than me have invented that same solution. Though my version only allows +1 to one attack roll in that turn. Still very useful.

Help Me Make My Skill Challenge Fun

Not really. Sending the fighter into combat alone without any help, will almost certainly end with a dead fighter. No, we let the orcs surround the fighter and beat him to a bloody pulp in a round or two. The mechanism X successes before 3 failures doesn't look anything like combat. Attacking...

D&D 4E Good adventure that shows 4E's strengths?

Faced with the same problem, I added a very simple minor to the game in order to absorb that compulsion. "Aim. You get +1 on one attack roll this turn." It's just a no-brainer to use, unless you have something very important to do (like quarry an enemy or healing an ally).

    D&D 4E Who's still playing 4E

I'm currently running four 4E groups (three going through War of the Buring Sky and one struggling with the converted G1-3 adventures from Dragon). They will certainly go on for a long while. Though my game actually more of a 3E clone with a lot (a whole lot!) of the mechanical ideas from 4E...

    Sage Advice (18 May 2015)

I just noticed the Twitter quote. I can't belive that ruling. So if you have taken Lucky, you're better of closing your eyes before attacking (assuming you don't have Sneak Attack). That's just silly. Edit: Of course it would be less silly if using the feat is a limited resource, but I'm at...

    Sage Advice (18 May 2015)

I had to read it several times, but my conclusion is that they left out one important word "and then decide which two of the three dice to use." Then the disadvantage will eat the highest of those two.

By Crom! Modiphius is Making a New CONAN RPG

Actually he died in 1936 (June 11). And no-one owns the rights to his works. The copyright has expired for all his stories. That swedish company is trying to weasel into ownership through trademark law (which is doubtful) and the very nebulous "properties". Any reasonable judge would laugh at...

Monte Cook is Making a Movie! [Udated with TEASER TRAILER]

Uhm, the goal is actually 290,000 SEK. And the way the swedish krona is going these days, that is only a little over 33,000 USD.

WotBS SPOILERS REQUEST: Altering the Setting/Story Heavily, Need some Info

Speaking of strange cross-overs, here's an interesting quote from Bob Dylan: ”I am against nature. I don't dig nature at all. I think nature is very unnatural. I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay.” You wouldn't think good ol' Mr Zimmerman actually...

D&D 5E (2014) So, I have been out of town for a few weeks, did I miss something?

While it's technically true that AD&D Monster Manual was released in 1977, I would personally count 1978, when the Player's Handbook was released, as the release year for AD&D 1st edition.

WotBS Please help me on the second adventurer - The Indomitable Fire Forest of Innenotdar

I've just finished this adventure with my group (using the 4e version). I few central points about it: 1. The whole business with Khadral the sorcerer is basically XP padding added to the 4e version of the adventure. You want the adventurers to find the remains of Torfendar, but there are just...

    D&D 5E (2014) Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

I'm afraid not. These things are listed under the subheading "Other Strength Checks", not under the subheading "Athletics". Not all ability checks are related to a skill in 5E.
