Dark Horse Reveals First Dungeons & Dragons Comic

As with no-guns, claiming horned helmets, furs, chainmail bikinis and the absence of pants as "faux-medieval" is something I find extremely irritating. None of those fashions ever existed (especially in Europe, where running around without pants would lead to frozen balls). It was a Conan...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Official Teaser Trailer (2025)

We can but hope. Prediction: It turns out that Kitsch-Earth cannot be saved, so the F4 build a giant spaceship and evacuate the planet with a gene bank, because "family is everything".

This certainly ties into was seems to happen in Apocalypse World, at least as narrated by my friend. I think what happens is all the players try to outdo each other with the silliest development they can think of.

I think the 4e philosophy was that D&D was primarily a tactical combat game.

Dark Horse Reveals First Dungeons & Dragons Comic

It didn't make sense to me at the time that dwarven clerics could exist in the world but couldn't be PCs. I now realise that this was Gygax's attempt to impose his humancentric vision on the game. It's funny that by the time Unearthed Arcana came out towards the end of 1st edition it openly...

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

Evil gods enjoy destruction, as do those who choose to follow evil gods. You could probably get away with ordering them to kill each other too, without involving adventurers.

Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Review

WotC is an organisation which cares about maximising profits, just like TSR before them (but marginally less incompetently). They cater to new and current players, not old relics.

Possibly, if I was running the adventure, I would know where the staff where (I generally move tokens around on a VTT GM layer for mobile NPCs) the actions of the players cannot teleport them to a different location.

I know some people were complaining about being stuck with a secret door in Rime if the Frostmaiden. They were really stuck behind missing the point, the adventure was a sandbox, there was no requirement for them to get past the door. Some things the party just fails at and goes on to do...

Indeed, what would be surprising is if they weren’t there. Unless, of course, the players decided to do something sensible and break in at night.

If it’s a chateau (French for castle) I would assume that if it was understaffed that would be noted in the overall description.

This entire thread is going round and round in circles faster than a windmill in a hurricane, and it’s all down to people’s imagining the fantasy world in completely different ways. It can never reach a conclusion because neither side has the common frame of reference required to understand the...

A chateau cook stays in their place of work - the kitchen, unless they are called away by something, or they are in bed. They don’t “walk around a lot” because food is constantly being prepared and someone has to supervise. They have minions who they can send out to bring in supplies, etc.

Dungeons & Dragons: Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Review

What is drawing a lot of people into D&D is the fantasy of being whenever you want to be, looking like whatever you want to, and not encountering prejudice because of it. That includes pointy ears, furry feet, green skin, horns, tusks, tall, short etc etc etc. It’s the cosmetic options that...

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn Eclipsed, the MtG set releases January 2026, could tge Lorwyn D&D be released concurrently?

It’s been suggested before that this is the product originally scheduled for October, and it has been delayed to avoid spoilers for MTG My view, around 30% probable. Slightly after, rather than simultaneous, as that would be too difficult to meet schedules.

I think the real issue here is: people's brains work differently (but people assume that everyone else's brain works the same as theirs does). Let me explain. We had a discussion on Aphantasia a while back. And we actually found that amongst the small sample of people taking part in the...
