    ZEITGEIST X-Men in Zeitgeist

I always thought Thames Grimsley was William Shatner and... that's... how I... roleplay him.

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] Ekossigan, Adventure #5 and dark stuff in Zeitgeist (Spoilers. Obviously)

Yes, he was staggering towards them, with a piece of Quital shrapnel imbedded in his face, crying out for his defeated minions and being harried by Obscurati assassins. Absolutely. Better that way. I have a large group so I upped the ante and added a quest to find one of the bronze golem's...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] Ekossigan, Adventure #5 and dark stuff in Zeitgeist (Spoilers. Obviously)

I never mentioned in my earlier post, but my players failed to stop Ekossigan and he murdered all the orphans. I really didn't expect that to happen and it was exceptionally dark. It was the first time the group's failure had had such dire consequences, and really built up tension for the finale.

ZEITGEIST Ottavia Sacredote on The Isle of Odiem (Spoilers, maybe).

I love it when players go all Scooby Doo in their approach to problems. It's even funnier when they end up dead as a result.

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

DM Notes Before I post the final part of our session report, I thought I would explain the way we dealt with the multiple combats detailed in post #864. There were only four out of seven players present the week before last, so the party had to be split a week earlier. (That's why I had...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 56, Part Three - Ludio Marcione One of the useful things about writing a regular campaign journal is that I can add little bits of exposition every now and then, without interrupting the flow of the story at the table. So here's what I sent the players to bring them up to speed on...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Oh, good grief. Poor you! That would have taken a lot of scrolling, and even then you wouldn't have found much but a couple of oblique references (in post #775), back when our main group of heroes revisited the vault with Kasvarina: There they learned that the 'storm-tossed sea' where they last...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 56, Part Two - Meanwhile... ...up on the roof: Just before the Professor Bugge (or Cedric San) – for it was he, the dark-robed necromancer – invoked the spirit of Venkio, Korrigan had transformed into a Bolt of Avilona and shot up to the roof where Leon was working on the lantern...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Very much so, yes. It wouldn't be Zeitgeist without Rumdoom. Not our Zeitgeist anyway! His player was out for several weeks for real-life reasons - not for the first time. So we staged another departure during his final week, which happened to coincide with the showdown on the Lance. To my...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 56, Part One - Unexpected Help Venkio had been the very worst of the dragon tyrants, fond of dipping his victims in vats of acid. As Korrigan, Quratulain, Gupta and Uru approached the dragon, a shadowy shape peeled itself away from a pillar, in much the same way as they had seen the...

Thanks for your response. So if the players don't destroy the lanterns, or get out of the radius of the lanterns, or realise the danger of the lanterns - and focus instead on trying to protect Aodhan - then they get stuck in the Dreaming? Given that the goal is to kill Aodhan, the latter...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

RangerWickett - Having given Catherine Romana several rounds to monologue, and taken a slow dash across the palace (plus a couple more rounds to grab magic items) the PCs are now way over the number of rounds required for the palace to fully transition. Cypher System has a different round...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 55, Part Two - Taking out the Lanterns The bunker was beneath another secret door – this one a hatch in the floor. It led to spiral stone steps and a network of vaulted chambers. Warding runes on the hatch and on the walls indicated that this was a very well-protected space. As they...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 55, Part One - Flight to the Bunker The wedding guests and assorted non-combatants ranged in age from 5 to 95 and weren’t capable of moving very fast at all. Many had to scurry through the throne room, while Aodhan, Harkover, Dame Jillian and Unit B dealt with the straggling ghost...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Agreed. I think she is more subtle than the others, and less easily defined by her keynote abilities, or a single adjective. This may in part be due to the fact that she wasn't designed in 4e and 'translated' into Cypher, so she isn't a recognisable build - a warlord, assassin, fighter or...

Session 54, Part Three - Obscurati Coup Attempt The bride arrived and the ceremony began. All was going well, until the king was about to make the final proclamation, whereupon the palace lights flickered and died. The light from outside faded too and what remained took on a sickly purple hue...

Session 54, Part Two - Torfeld palace Gupta and Quratulain learned that the Royal Skyseer had left no note, but had awoken that morning looking haunted. He had refused to take breakfast, and instead had a bath drawn up. While waiting for it to be filled, he shared his bleak vision with his...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Before moving on with the rest of the session report, I thought I would pause briefly to discuss the 'three-clue rule' as popularized on the excellent 'Alexandrian' website/blog. This simple DMing tip states that if you want a group of players to pick up on a piece of information, make sure to...

ZEITGEIST [ZEITGEIST] The Continuing Adventures of Korrigan & Co.

Session 54, Part One - Back to Life (Back to Reality) Back to the here and now, yeah. The unit found themselves back in the Waking, in the High Bayou, many hundreds of miles from anywhere. It turned out that the Voice of Rot had banished all their allies along with them, including the Great...
