    TRAILBLAZER - PDF Release - Discussion/Questions/Errata

Available now through the print-on-demand subsidiary of Amazon, CreateSpace (link). If you prefer to wait to order it directly through Amazon, it may take a few days to propagate through their system. In my experience so far, the book prints and ships the day you order it; I'm guessing it...

    TRAILBLAZER - PDF Release - Discussion/Questions/Errata

Understand that we want to release the best possible product (under the particular circumstances of Print-On-Demand). Although I have had my proofs for a while now, and I am personally quite happy with them, they aren't ready until the Design Guru says they are ready. We have just a couple...

    TRAILBLAZER - PDF Release - Discussion/Questions/Errata

Yep. That's it exactly. And if you're hasted, you get one extra attack at the same bonus: +2/+2/+2/+2... and so on. This is true of all manufactured weapon (by default, iterative) attacks. Natural attacks still have a -5 penalty for secondary attacks. I regret this somewhat, in hindsight...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

Let's not kid ourselves. We gamers all prefer Mountain Dew anyhow.

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

Actually I agree with that design philosophy in principle. There's no value in adding details to a creature to which the players are never privy, and especially not in the case of changes to their combat mechanics. For example, consider adding two bonus feats to a creature: Power Attack and...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

I find it unsettling that someone can compare the 1e thru 3e orc and gnoll and find nothing unique about them. In effect, 4e demands that if the two races do not feel mechanically different in combat, then they step on each other. One of them must either change in some mechanical way-- or it...

3E & 4E Love and Hate Polls - What does it mean?

I can confidently state that I would not still be invested in the D&D hobby today if not for the OGL. In fact I would have left the hobby in 2003 or so. But assuming that the GSL replaces me with at least 1 new player, that's not a loss for WoTC.

    Outlaw Press stolen artwork accusations

Apparently Storn has some art that is NOT for swipin'.

The Open Gaming License: Almost 10 Years Later

Exactly this. "Safe harbor" isn't insignificant, either. There are lots of very small press publishers and hobby designers (myself included) who never would have bothered without the safe harbor. And some bigger names, too. The game mechanics were significantly advanced because so many people...

RIP - The Rogue Improvement Project

Where its face is facing isn't relevant, only that the creature has an obvious front or back orientation that is obvious to an observer. A creature composed of a homogenous substance (like an ooze or an elemental) ain't got no face. Although it isn't in traits of the creature type, I think...

    Removing Racial HD

Good thread. I always enjoy what you have to say, Celebrim. Might I suggest, instead of an XP penalty, an "XP Debt" that needs to be repaid? I think this is a closer fit to the gradually flattening power curve of CR (ie, CR1 to CR2 is a bigger jump than CR19 to CR20.)

RIP - The Rogue Improvement Project

Rogues also get sneak attack when flanking... An odd oversight considering that, in my experience, 90% of all sneak attacks are a result of flanking (as opposed to catching them flat-footed, being invisible, or otherwise denying the target its AC). The rogues you know must be extremely...

    [Feedback] Trailblazer Character Sheet

Time I have; skills, ehhhhh not so much. So if I can recap from this thread: You need the sheet I posted to have room for SR, and you're good to go?

I am not sure how long that quote has been in your sig, but it seems relevant.

    [Feedback] Trailblazer Character Sheet

Well, there's the one attached a few posts above here. Ultimately I think the character sheet is such a personal preference, there's not much point in posting an "official" version. (Especially if it will hold up more important things...)

    [Feedback] Trailblazer Character Sheet

Should I rescind the PDF update and the print version of the book in order to get the character sheet whipped into shape?

OMG! The PCs are murderers! Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh

If the local authority (regardless of its size) lacks the kind of power necessary to contain the PCs, it's still Frontierland, and the PCs are the law. And as I said, there's not really much question whether they are on the side of "right" or not, regardless of whether they happen to properly...
