D&D General If A Noble holds 1 title per country in 2 neighbouring countries what can he do if those countries go to war?, after all no matter what he lose's

From OP: RAW, that won't apply to a 5e character with the Noble background. RAW, only vuman/cust. lineage characters can start noble and, in any case, feats can't be taken more than once unless they explicitly say so.

D&D 5E (2014) Decanter of Endless Water facts

Even thoughts of speed are tricky. If we think of a flow that could cover, say horizontally, a distance of 30 feet before crashing to the ground, we (with conceptions out of D&D physics) might think of something frighteningly fast. If we thought of a continual flow, round to round that, over 6...

    D&D 5E (2014) Halflings are the 7th most popular 5e race

And, for a ling that was "half" in all dimensions, a pint would relatively have eight times the effective volume. 🍺

D&D General Which non-D&D races would you like to see in D&D?

Whatever races are used, please, they need to be balanced and thoughtful/evocative in their design. I'd recommend that the fantastic Humblewood races be used (initial set options to 'vulpin'). The medium and small-sized birdfolk races have flight typically limited to 'glide' though some races...

D&D 5E (2014) What into wilderness/nature/feywild adventures would you recommend?

I'm looking to do a/some three-month stint/s, one evening per week with, hopefully, a wilderness/nature/feywild 5e campaign. (Could do ~Pathfinder). I'd prefer to support a third-party publisher but could always defer back to Ghosts of Saltmarsh which, although I don't currently own, I've played...

D&D General "that you can see", "line of sight", glass, mirrors, ~clairvoyance, blindsight, and anything else.

If you use a mirror when targetting a medusa, you'd be just as vulnerable as ever. You can see the medusa (for targetting the medusa) and can see it's eyes (for being targeted yourself).

D&D General Has anyone run a PHB only table?

Level 20 in 40 hours - and probably just few combat minutes. It could be nice though to get players to level 9 but, with only 2 hours at that level, players would have to take their chance quickly to test it out.

D&D General "that you can see", "line of sight", glass, mirrors, ~clairvoyance, blindsight, and anything else.

Many spells just have the requirement, "that you can see". I'd have thought a reflected or magically enabled sight might facilitate this.

I don't know about creation by gods but many magics and items produce fire. A custom minor item from a previous campaign was a large metal dish that could conjour create bonfire.

D&D 5E (2014) An interesting mechanic for some spells

I like spells like create bonfire, fire bolt, and fireball, that do what they say (and work with fire). I'm not sure how a descriptive name might best be applied but perhaps something like siphon potential or reassign magic might fit. The spell might alternately fit in abjuration, evocation or...

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

D&D could certainly benefit from some good armour and shield-using builds. It would be great if some leads were taken from the likes of Pathfinder.

D&D General "that you can see", "line of sight", glass, mirrors, ~clairvoyance, blindsight, and anything else.

So here are some situations regarding a potential target of a potential effect of such a thing as a spell. 1. the target is within range but on the other side of a transparent, solid barrier such as glass. 2. the target is within range but cannot be directly seen due to an inability to turn or...

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

Others have made the argument that air can be trapped in clothing. In deep ~water it could be a contest of strength/race against time to get clear of the weight. There are lots of choices when going on a sea-faring or similar campaign. Given a few levels, you might well get water breathing...

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

Some do. Seas less so. Make your survival checks and enjoy carrying waterlogged (clue's in the name) logs across swamps in case of sinking.

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

Depending on the DM, characters might always make survival checks. (y) Logs in swamps also might become at least partly waterlogged but, all the same, I'd also like to see already armoured and laden characters carry logs across swamps in case they started sinking. Also, I'm not insisting that...

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

Swamps and aquatic. I'm considering a sea-based introduction to Ghosts of Saltmarsh. But availability isn't an issue. I'm asking what might logically be required. Otherwise, it could be a case of striping off quick, and bye-bye to that expensive chain armour. In swamps, characters have been...

D&D General How many air-blown waterskins are needed, if wearing metal armors, to prevent sinking in water?

Either inside or outside the backpack, I think you'd be alright.(please remember that our aim is to make the character look ridiculous).
