Corporate games, nice. Are those people usually inexperienced with RPGs?

Weird, around here it is usually considered the best edition. People are just hesitant to yet again buy something new.

Most people haven't even converted to 5e yet, and it has only been a few years. We definitely do not need a new edition, not for another 10 years if ever.

This project sounds weird when reading about them wanting people to take the role of (bad) player archetypes. Doesn't sound like much of a game could come out of it. It sounds promising otherwise.

Except you can get that book in dozens of downloads. I know many of my players have it and they are a bit miffed I won't use it until they all have legal copies.

Not really. In my time, we read books,magazines, doodled, sometimes wrote stories or poems, did homework, played simple games on paper or even chess and backgammon, we had a class with such a boring teacher we played D&D most of the time (well, my group at least), listened to music on walkmans...

Looks like we will go back to d20 Future&Co, none of the players but one was invested, and there were too many non-intuitive rules for me. Leaving Threat out in the open,for example, mixes player knowledge with char knowledge, and that is not wanted.

Wow, in what weird games did you play... really, in all the time playing, it hasn't happened that a gender switch changed the person's behavior, asides from having trouble with the new body and trying to get back to the old normal (which usually worked). Not ever has anyone tried to imply...

For me it all depends on the campaign. I have chars with as good as no background, and some where the background was always detailed. I get into it easily enough to just go along, providing the concept isn't too outlandish.
