A few Castle Ravenloft (boardgame) questions...

I have a question as well I was recently introduced to the game from a friend of mine and had a blast playing the intro adventure/scenario over the course of a few hours. Afterwards we had a long discussion on my impressions of the game that degenerated into an argument about game design...

Bunch of new smilies & thread prefix icons

Count me as one that does not care for the new icons. They are visually distracting and make the site look too busy. I would prefer to have the ability to not display them.

What is the best Mystic Eye/Thunderhead Games product?

The way Interludes was put together reminds me of why some of the older modules like T1-The Village of Homlet continuously show up in forum discussion.

What is the best Mystic Eye/Thunderhead Games product?

I only have Interlude. The only area that I saw that offered web enhancements was the Appendix 3: Continuing the adventure. There seem to be three that use the password from this book and one from the larger book from 2002. I'd love anything they put out for this adventure. I'd suspect that...

Slightly off topic, Does anyone have the exact web address that automatically links to the latest comic? I lost my bookmark and would like to replace it.

What is the best Mystic Eye/Thunderhead Games product?

Necroing this thread because my google-fu is weak today. Does anyone know if the web enhancements for Interludes: Brief Expeditions to Bluffside are still available anywhere. I never thought to download them when I first bought the module years ago.

    DVD drive tray keeps ejecting

I had a similar issue a few years ago. I had originally thought I had a software issue so reinstalled my OS. The problem continued afterwards, so I replaced the drive. I haven't tried the original drive in a different computer, but don't really care; the new one works fine. My guess is that my...

Looking for a CRPG with no attachments

Hey all you gear heads, I am looking for a CRPG that I can play on my laptop that doesn't necessitate a lot of remembering or map making. Something I can play for maybe a half hour or so at a time. But it must not have the lethality of something like Nethack or other rogue-types. Diablo 2 maybe...

What system has your favorite Attributes/Stats setup?

While I don't have a lot of practical experience with it, Savage Worlds using different dice for each ability seems like a interesting idea.

    D&D is just a game...right?

Sounds like a hell of a game. I like these types of sessions because they provide the counter balance to all of the successes and help impart meaning both to the players and characters.

Why is the original red box so special

To tie into my posts up thread, I find the Mentzer Red Box special because of its marketing and placement. Finding it in my local book store (Walden's I think) was like a blast of fresh air. Not only was this a game that threw off the shackles of predestined stories, but it was also something I...

Why is the original red box so special

I did not mean to imply that D&D was trying to stop people from playing MMOs, just siphon off enough for PnP RPGs to remain viable. There's nothing stopping people from doing both. CRPGs and MMOs are so prevalent today that I wonder if WOTC (and any other PnP for that matter) would be better...

Why is the original red box so special

Right, Dungeons & Dragons, no computer or monthly subscription fee needed to play. I wonder if that would compete with the MMO crowd?
