D&D 5E (2014) What are your most well used Products?

My copies of the 1E Core Three have by far seen the most use over my 40+ year RPGing career; 1E PHB most of all. My 3.5E Core Three have seen the second-most amount of usage, though by some great margin, with the 3.5E PHB taking the most abuse of those. I'm in and out of others for reference...

    D&D 5E (2014) On the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

Yeah, I'm not sure how that works either. At some point, some one person needs to write it, or several someones need to write sections of it, and likewise with the editing. Certainly, it is never a matter of each company writing every other word. :) Then, of course, it falls to someone or...

How many people do you know who haven't switched to 5e, and why haven't they?

Our group of six played through the Starter Set enhanced by the Basic Rules download over four months back when that first came on the scene. It was shelved with plans to revisit it when the OGL was integrated into their publishing model. Two of the players who had to bow out of the group for...

    D&D 5E (2014) On the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

Well, it's a Green Ronin Publishing book with some guidance from WotC and their named stamped on it, really, isn't it? Though I don't recall a lot of complaints about books put out by Green Ronin Publishing in the past. Do you think more care is taken by each company when a project is totally...

[UPDATED AGAIN] Gary Gygax's Widow & TSR Settle Trademark Dispute

Such as? Aside from the memorial statue for which the Gygax Memorial Fund was conceived and started in 2010 to solicit donations (and was given the go-ahead with its location of Donian Park in 2011), I'm not aware of any use being made of the IP.

    D&D 5E (2014) On the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

I wonder if this is indicative of the limited release schedule more so than the scope of this one book. How large an area needs to be covered to satisfy the players in a single campaign? Or, at least, in a typical campaign (not necessarily a 20 or 30 level major campaign)? Does it benefit the...

    D&D 5E (2014) On the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

    Basically what I figured. http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?472383-I-just-don-t-see-why-they-even-bothered-with-the-Sword-Coast-Adventurer-s-Guide/page22&p=6764191&viewfull=1#post6764191

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

I think you are the target audience for this product. I think they believed that enough folks who knew more about the Realms had plenty of other flavor text from older products which they already have or could get on the secondary market that they weren't worried about it. More of a guide that...

I concur. We should both take a step back. You have a good evening as well.

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

It's not a debate of facts. It is you making a claim as factual and offering conjecture then saying someone isn't playing fair when they point out that your claim of it being factual isn't backed by hard evidence, then further saying that if they can't prove the negative you will continue to...

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

Just to be clear, you're claiming that retailers are harmed by Kickstarter, saying you know there is no hard proof, and further saying that asking for hard evidence of the claim is an unfair argument?

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

I know you fully understand that this is not true. Asking for citations of a claim is not dismissive, it's asking for detail to a level beyond just saying any old thing. Furthermore, asking for someone to support a claim is not the same thing as telling someone since they can't prove the claim...

Um, being dismissive is what you've just done by insisting on evidence to prove a negative. When there is no evidence for an argument, such as "Kickstarter harms retailers," you don't need evidence to prove the argument isn't an argument, such as "Kickstarter doesn't harm retailers."

I agree though, FIRST, maybe Alzrius could also provide citations to sources that he has never kicked a elephant in any way? That Alzrius has not negatively impacted the Brazilian economy at all? That Alzrius has never caused a a college or professional sports team to lose a single game...

Mike Schley's MASSIVE Forgotten Realms Map From SCAG!

Well, the business model of the last decade and a half was marked by the cyclical layoffs. At least they don't do that anymore. Mostly because they have so few people working there and farm out their products but at least folks know where they'll be come the holidays. :)

This Weekend @ The BoxOffice: 2015_Nov.08

Sure, but James Bond can skew to an older audience, an audience that doesn't mind that smaller tenth theater screen no bigger than the side of a suburban garage. Makes for a good alternative to the fantasy and sci-fi blockbusters that some older audiences will skip and gives them something to...

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

I know of plenty of people who play and consume both. I was running a 1E game this week and some play both PF and 5E, while all play in multiple games/systems regularly. One was even just at GameHole Con playing in PF Society games as well as Adventure League games. Yup. The ones at my table...
