Yep I get that you have a passionate dislike for the game. Your posts almost turned me off playing it, I'm glad I stuck with the courage of my convictions and kept at it, as despite a few things I don't like, and a couple of little wrinkles I'm a bit meh about, I'm enjoying DM'ing it more than...
As a PF2E fan, I have to say the situation does look bleak, I hope paizo can turn it around as I believe it's a great system and would be gutted if support for it dried up.
I don't really buy 5e books anymore due to financial constraints meaning I focus on my game of choice (PF2E), but I'll be damned if I don't make an exception for that alt cover it's too gorgeous.
My only nit-pick is I wished they'd just called it treasury of dragons, I know that doesn't follow...
I feel healing (and crafting) are the fly's in the ointment for PF2E (stealth took me a while to get used to, but now I have I think it works). Luckily both systems I find are fairly easily house ruled and neither have impacted on our enjoyment of the game.
Like a few others have mentioned I...
It's not a great look for paizo and I'm not doubting the veracity of the post in anyway, but before any conclusions are made it must be worth hearing paizo's side of the story?
This will be incredibly harmful for paizo, community support is pretty critical to them, it's not like they are WoTC that can by and large ride out most controversy.
As someone who greatly enjoys paizo products, reading this troubles me greatly. I'd always come to regard them as a progressive company, who championed inclusivity. It would seem this is just an image they portray to grab the dollar.
However saying all that there are two sides to every story...
Not sure it classes as heartbreak, probably more regret, but anyways never buying Star Wars Saga Edition. I've a Star Wars campaign I'm itching to run but none of the SW systems I have fit our group and Saga Edition from what I've read of it would be right up our street
While virtual gaming has been a god send in these times, for me it does add stress to the game, both from a technical standpoint (getting everything to work) and more importantly from a prep point of view.
Improv is a lot lot harder in the virtual world, and I always feel like I'm somewhat...
I'm not a horror fan, nor do I play 5e, but if this book is half as good as Candlekeep Mysteries, I'll be all over it, got so much inspiration from that, and it sounds like this one will be the same, and I love that alt cover
Nothing currently, but I'm planning a starfinder campaign, loosely based around the old Ulysses 31 cartoon, for if we are ever are able to get back gaming in person
True but I somewhat rationalised that as being the fact that because the super serum no longer exists (that we know of) it makes the jacked up flag smashers even more of a valuable commodity, and potentially down the line should carter want to get back into the super serum business, she could...
It's difficult to comprehend, the way I see it is that the serum is too much hassle (unpredictable and can give too much power to those she can't control) so she'd rather no one have it, and by her actions so fully ingratiated herself with Sam and Bucky leading to her new and more profitable role
As a counterpoint to this, the group I dm over foundry has expanded from four to six and although combats are slower I've not noticed a massive difference, i think the three actions help in this regard as a lot less confusion over what type of action is used and less ummm'ing and arrr'ing trying...
Until we know the nature of power Agatha 'took' it's hard to guess her true status, maybe whatever it is has corrupted her or maybe even controlling her, so although so may have been harshly judged at her trial, she is now way beyond that point
I don't think anyone is denying its a niche product (as are most table top RPG's outside of 5e), I think people are curious to find out how much of a niche.
Wow, DnD 5e is a behemoth! While I'm pleased about its success (and I feel it's deserved, it's a great system) I do worry when one brand gains such market dominance, I'm old enough to remember Atari.....
