D&D 4E Revised 4E Wizard Class with Freeform Spellcasting System

You don't do dice as a point mechanism. You build powers around say effect+type where Wizards are good at adding additional targets via Area Bursts/Close Blasts. Take the powers that Daze at level 3 as an example: Prismatic Spray - Wizard close blast 5 Words are Not Enough - Cleric 2 targets...

D&D 4E Revised 4E Wizard Class with Freeform Spellcasting System

Math is severely off. +2 area for -1 die? Level 19 Wizard can disintegrate in an area 3 burst as an encounter option? i.e. do Encounter attack, AP: Encounter attack - anything you hit twice is dead…

Keep on the Shadowfell vs Reavers of Harkenwold

Here are some of the problematic issues of Keep on the Shadowfell: Sir Keegan Skill Challenge. This has several worst elements of early skill challenges - namely, it focuses on two specific stats(Cha, Int), it is really just an extended social skill turned into a skill challenge, by the rules...

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

Eh? Most of the stuff that's really exceptionally strong is in books. Occasional Dragon option hits an angle that nothing in any book does, but… As an example, Flame Spiral, Demonskin Adept, +2/3/4 bonus damage to Fire feat, +1/3/5 Shard to implement, Staff of Expertise, Accurate Staff, Dual...

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

I think it depends on party. In the right party and playing tactically, I think it is the best one where Assault is the worst. i.e. Swordmage who takes mostly immediate action powers and alternates between Swordburst & Booming Blade, where they kite their soldier mark, then Booming Blade...

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

No, each mark does what it says it does. If it doesn't say anything other than target is marked, it is just a generic one. So Dual Strike ends up marking with 2 generic marks. Where say Aegis+Tide of Iron can push targets into position where they're burst 1 for your friends.

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

I think to be also very clear about most hybrid Defender|Defender - they can almost always do multi-marking right from 1st level every round of every combat if they choose. Which is a really powerhouse Defender option unavailable to most single class Defenders. So as an example, a...

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

Fighter|Swordmage is reasonably straightforward - 16 pre-racial Str/Int, spend hybrid talent on either Swordmage Warding or Fighter Armor. Use Aegis on one opponent - when that opponent dies or you choose to override it by using a Fighter power on them, you can use it again. I particularly like...

    D&D 4E 4e ask a simple question, get a simple answer

This is more of a build question, but I'd likely try to go Ki Focus Expertise - I can't use daggers as an implement, so wielding say a +1 Chieftain's Javelin and a +1 Rhythm Blade Dagger and then sticking with a ki focus for all powers is better.

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

Most Defender|Defender hybrids work really easily together - Fighter, Wardens, and Battleminds all trigger off any mark and Swordmages and Paladins generate a lot of marks.

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

Not really. 3.x's default tended to be dip in one class, everything else in another. 4e's default is 50/50. And with certain builds, 50/50 is nearly impossible or idiotic in 3.x because there's not really a good Prestige Class to make it work. Rogue|Cleric as an example. 4e? Elf with 18 Dex/Wis...

7th Level Storm Sorcerer - Spark Form or Thunder Bomb?

Two things: As a sorcerer, you generally like being in melee as a high risk, high reward move - in that your AC is bad, but a lot of powers damage opponents who pick on you or find themselves adjacent. Spark Form lets you get into melee or out very quickly. You likely can always potentially...

    List of Spells (Wizard Powers)?

Not sure. I've tended to stay far away from third party materials simply because they don't work with Compendium/Character Builder. At least, not without a lot of work.

    List of Spells (Wizard Powers)?

Go to Compendium, search by powers, and then limit it to Wizard powers - hit apply and go. http://www.wizards.com/dndinsider/compendium/database.aspx

    D&D 4E MwaO's Frankensteins

Yup. That's more to show the offensive side rather than a clear cut move. I'd personally keep Lashing Flail+Harlequin Style and just pick up the other two options next.

    D&D 4E MwaO's Frankensteins

Staggering+Lashing Flail = big slide. Flail Expertise+Lashing Flail = prone. Both are useful for different reasons. I don't drop Lashing Flail on either build?

D&D 4E Conan vs the Swarms of Soldiers.

If you're in a scenario where you're by yourself as a level 1 PC and you know your DM is throwing tons of minions at you, Dragonborn is a pretty good selection for that reason. Move+Tempest Dance+Dragonbreath+AP: Cleave might very well take them all out...

D&D 4E Conan vs the Swarms of Soldiers.

8 level 1 minions is a level+4 fight…while the Fighter deliberately only uses at-wills… And in any case, this is about power selection. A well-built Fighter has a range of attack options - a close burst, a damage option, etc...

D&D 4E Conan vs the Swarms of Soldiers.

Most classes have some sort of close burst or multi-attack option - Fighters have Cleave or Dual Strike as examples, both of which can take down two minions at-will. Barbarians have a couple of level 1 encounter powers, etc...and their own two weapon at-will power, etc...

What Do You Feel is Necessary or Recommended?

To 3.5 lovers? 3.5 MC'ing has very little to do with 4e Hybrids, if anything. I mean, almost no one split 50/50 in classes. 4e Hybrids are the closest thing to AD&D MC'ing to me. Except (generally) balanced and fun.
