Unearthed Arcana Psionics Hits Unearthed Arcana

One thing's for sure, expect the next storyline after the Drizzt fan-wank one to be Cthulhu-esque, Far Realm focused. WotC doesn't release anything unless it has a direct correlation to its storyline concepts. Their attempt to mimic Marvel's shared universe concept with D&D and all.

Unearthed Arcana Psionics Hits Unearthed Arcana

Well, didn't take 5e long to introduce a class to out-Fighter the Fighter (looking at you, Order of the Immortal). Wouldn't be D&D if that didn't happen. Snark aside, that one bears close examination...some of the disciplines for OotI are....insanely good. No real way to get more than one...

Watch This Video About SWORD COAST LEGENDS Campaign Creation

I think it would be more accurate to call it Dungeons & Dragon Age. Dragon Age with a Forgotten Realms skin and names really.

Watch This Video About SWORD COAST LEGENDS Campaign Creation

Pre-generated but empty maps/towns is a nice time saver and a great option. Lacking the ability to create, from scratch, custom maps/towns is a blunder of significant size. I hope they either add that ability later, or allow this game easy and open modding (a la Skyrim) so the modding...

Social Duels & Dual Identities: Playtest Pathfinder's ULTIMATE INTRIGUE

Reminds me of the Ninja from 1st Edition AD&D Oriental Adventures. I'm honestly not at all impressed with the Vigilante. Granted, I've only read it and not played it...but meh. It just strikes me as pointlessly convoluted and over-designed. It should be a prestige class with varying entry...

    DRAGON+ Now Available For Ratings

I never underestimate the willingness to spend large volumes of money on marketing and advertising by anyone selling anything. I don't begrudge Dragon+ it's existence, but as others have said, using the Dragon name was a bad call.

    DRAGON+ Now Available For Ratings

It's a commercial you read. Really, that's all it is. That's why I have no use for it.

    April's D&D Feedback Survey Results

I think the desire for more sandboxy adventures is a way for the customer base to indicate they want setting-specific info to be more front and center, instead of the storyline. If all they're going to get is adventure/storyline modules and very little to any setting-specific or core game...

BESTIARY 5, ULTIMATE INTRIGUE, And More Coming For PATHFINDER!

Some, like myself, enjoy options. Completionists cry "Bloat!", some recognize it as an invented term. I've never believed in the nonsense that is "favoring the players". GMs who allow such mentality to creep into their bone cage only do themselves a disservice. The GM sets the rules. Don't...

    SWORD COAST'S DM Tools

Watched? Yes, all of them, including today's Twitch one. Have I seen anything remotely resembling the adventure creating DM Tools they've been suggesting? Not even remotely.

    SWORD COAST'S DM Tools

Until they actually show these wonderful features in action and prove this game is capable of all they have thus far suggested (but not promised, I recognize), then I consider them the boastful rookie studio (rookie in terms of RPGs released), and the game itself will be remarkably underwhelming...

Exclusive OCCULT ADVENTURES Preview for PATHFINDER!

I'm always open to new classes and options. It's easy enough to ignore what you don't like, or disallow anything you think is broken. So far, I've liked most of the new classes and archetypes, though I was considerably disappointed in the Advanced Class Guide, mostly from feeling the...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide

2 out of 5 rating for Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide Gestalt classes was the best they could do? It's disappointing. There are some nifty classes in this, to be sure, but I find it overall not up to snuff for the quality Paizo is capable of. I enjoy new classes very much...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

No argument there (about scale). It just tends to be easier to not mention/not notice what is good, being done well, etc. since if things are working/going well/done well, they tend not to be noticed or commented on, since that generally means it's "as it should be". If something is perceived...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

The lamentations are just as valid as the cheerleading. Segregating them serves no purpose except to close the mind to variety and different views. Disagreements are just as excellent as agreements. Seeing a flood of super fun happy comments can be just as exhausting and tiresome as ultra...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

I imagine most its current success is the sales of the Core Rules. Those, typically, always sell quite well at launch/early in its life (everyone "kicking the tires" of the new edition and such). Thankfully, 5e is quite an excellent set of rules. Easy to learn, quick to play, and most of all...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Easy enough, yep, but I don't run modules/APs, I always create my own adventures and stories. I'll just stick to Pathfinder. I enjoy the rules and can easily ignore or house rule the bloat away. I might play in someone's homebrew 5e game, but at this point, I won't run one. :D

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Well, that's it for me and 5e/WotC then. Pity, I found 5e as a system to be excellent (still do), but if this is their idea of supporting a new edition, then count me out. 4e shoved me into Pathfinder's arms, WotC direction with 5e has ensured I'll stay there. At least WotC made it an easy...
