WotC Considering NPC Stat Format Change

I really don't think they are talking about changing the statblock. This is specifically about the parenthetical text included in the text. Such text would not be a replacement of the statblock. AD

Dragon Talk Interview with Kate Welch re Ghosts of Saltmarsh

I heard the same interview, and I didn't at all take it that there would never be a Greyhawk book. They've been dropping a lot of Greyhawk references in a lot of different media lately. This was another example. The whole "Until we actually do a robust Greyhawk setting book which - who knows - "...

WotC Is Mike Mearls Happy Hour still a thing?

It's a fun show. I miss Mike doing it. I do think that originally he was just really busy. It does seem like the whole Zak S. thing has put him on radio silence for one reason or another. I do hope he comes back to do it. He is supposed to be at Gary Con over the next few days. Perhaps he'll...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The Artificer Is Here! & UA Schedule Changes

Didn't WotC say that the Artificer would be added to the Wayfarer's Guide to Eberron after it was finished? That was one of the reasons they were delaying a print on demand option. And checking Keith Baker's FAQ, http://keith-baker.com/wgte-faq/, that was at least the plan initially. AD

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The Artificer Is Here! & UA Schedule Changes

So, I'll admit I'm not that familiar with previous incarnations of the Artificer and haven't done more than glance over Eberron stuff. But my initial impressions: 1) I really like the flavor. It's something different and looks fun. 2) On that same note, I really like the Magical Tinkering...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The Artificer Is Here! & UA Schedule Changes

I thought this little note on the UA page in the scheduling section was interesting: "We’ll let you know when the next UA installment is ready! (There’s a good chance it will contain more content for the artificer.)" AD

New Dragon+ (Feb 2019): Saltmarsh & Greyhawk edition

I think there's a good chance you're right. The only context where it makes sense is if it's done as part of one of their adventures, ala Storm Kings Thunder (which had an awful lot of setting info in it). Maybe more likely is something more akin to the Eberron pdf. Just a matter of whether...

New Dragon+ (Feb 2019): Saltmarsh & Greyhawk edition

I'm not so sure. I know what you mean in that they are listing a lot of existing resources you can use. But the article is exactly the kind of thing you would write to get people thinking about the setting in anticipation of something coming up. But since WotC don't announce releases early...

New Dragon+ (Feb 2019): Saltmarsh & Greyhawk edition

That was a long section on Greyhawk. I keep trying to decide if all this Greyhawk publicity lately (Mearls interview, Dragon+) is a sign that 1) They have something in the works and are building up to it 2) Mearls is trying to drum up support so he can do something 3) This is the sort of...

DnD Beyond is having quite a sale

Actually, the app is still in beta. I'm not sure why they don't make that clearer in the app description. But they are clear about it on their boards and in their developer updates. I have speculated it has to do with being in the app store and the play store. Maybe they technically aren't...

DnD Beyond is having quite a sale

You do not need a subscription to use content you buy. The only thing a subscription gets you is more character slots and/or the ability to share your content with other people (so that they don't have to buy the books themselves). Not that I'd turn down a 'subscriber discount'. AD

Artificer UA to be released in February

Having been on the internet for a little while, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that there will be people who are disappointed. Also, having grown up in Michigan, 'snowpocalypse' events rarely improve the quality of anything except sledding, snowball fights, and snow forts. They make...

Artificer UA to be released in February

It's also worth noting that on one of their twitch shows at the end of January, Jeremy said it would be coming sometime in February but probably not the first week and possibly not until the end of the month. So they had never anticipated it coming out early in the month, even before the...

What Are These D&D 5E Notes In Monte Cook Games' Numenera Shipments?

Oh, I don't know whether the Numenera is well suited for 5e. Perhaps not. I'm just saying that Cypher system fans don't lose anything by there being a 5e version, and that if that 5e version is done in a compelling enough fashion, it might even bring people over to Cypher. At any rate, Monte...

What Are These D&D 5E Notes In Monte Cook Games' Numenera Shipments?

Well, presuming that Monte doesn't decide to abandon the Cypher system in favor of 5e (which seems very, very unlikely), I don't think you'll be losing anything. It just opens up the setting for folks who wouldn't otherwise play it. People who like Cypher definitely won't switch. And, actually...
