As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

I think my preferred solution is that their scary look is their “war face” that they put on when the time for being subtle is past.

As a GM, which monster do you find the most difficult to role-play?

Probably devils, because I don’t think I can act them as being so smoothly manipulative, convincing, and superficially charming that it overcomes the fact that they’re covered in scales, spikes, horns, and constantly on fire.

    The Daggerheart Inspirational Thread [+]

So far I’ve only given the SRD a skim, but the concept of stating up an environment much like an enemy stuck out to me. It actually makes Daggerheart a contender for one campaign idea revolving around lifting regional curses.

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

Thanks for telling me, I’ll check it out.

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

Watch people talking about it and see if I like what I hear enough to buy it.

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

PCs are the ones equipped to take down the wraith raising and army of the dead. The part about the army? The PCs are going to need some assistance with that part.

    Video Games You Wish Existed

Ravenloft CRPG where you play as a Darklord. Do not hold back on how depressing an experience that would be. The best ending is where you force your patron Dark Power to possess you so your party members can end you both. Basically, End Roll in D&D and a bigger budget.

Worlds of Design: Breaking the Fantasy Mold

Currently working on a Caucasus Mountain themed region, inspired by Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. From what I’m finding out, any Georgia-esque country wouldn’t be too unfamiliar, but there’s a lot more digging in I have to do. Stuff it could have so far: giants and intelligent, but still...

How Fantastical Do You Like Your Fantasy World?

Quite a lot of fantastic stuff going around, but not to such a degree that ordinary life doesn’t happen. The village probably has a few people who can do magic and a couple of mystical trinkets locked away, but usually they can’t cast/be used over and over again, so are saved for emergencies...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

The majority of writers and artists are already not living off their works. “Don’t quit your day job” might be used as an insult unfortunately often, but for most creatives that’s just being realistic. That’s not a knock against their skill, a lot of my favorite works were made by people who did...

D&D General What races/species populate your DnD world?

Whenever I make a nation or region I find myself asking “is there any good reason to make these people non-human?” And the answer is usually no. I’lol work with players who pick something I don’t have planned out, but i can’t say I really have a role for most species options in the world itself...

D&D General What Bits of History Inspire Your Homebrew Setting?

The Caucasus Mountains have caught my attention recently, and I’m incorporating what I learn about the region into “the Ariak” (name subject to change) in my setting.

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

This came from a long conversation, so can’t exactly give the prompt in a way that’s useful.

    Creating better factions

I think about it as three questions: 1) What needs doing in this setting? People organize to solve (perceived) problems. 2) What are the channels through which they can organize? They can’t tackle the problem if they don’t have a way to pool their resources. 3) How badly can they screw it up...
