    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon+ Issue 33 out now!

Did the reprints from SCAG in XGE change at all? My recollection is that there were no changes.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dragon+ Issue 33 out now!

Another possibility that fits Occam's Razor, is with 4 published settings, outside the Forgotten Realms world,, why wouldn't you take cool content from the low selling SCAG to the most likely, well selling Tasha's?

    D&D 5E (2014) Mythic Odysseys of Theros

I like the Oath of Glory, myself. I like the idea of a Paladin that is less a servant of a god or ideal, and more a person with a destiny of greatness. I have Odyssey of the Dragonlords. There is a lot that I like about it. The subclasses have promise, but lack polish. Some like the Cleric...

D&D 5E (2014) Bards have an identity problem!

Yeah..I remember having around 2 less spells per level compared to a Specialist Wizard, and being 14th level when the Wizard was around 12th level. Bards had a pretty useful list of class features, outside the spellcasting. Being able to Levitate more weight then the Wizard by being higher...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Dragon Magazine for years was primarily non-paid submissions by fans. A single issue could have an article about Call of Cthulhu, Top Secret, The Marvel Comic RPG, and then have some really overpowered rules giving Druids the ability to be chirurgeons and heal massive hit points without spells...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

(Note spelling long forgotten names is hard) Fizban was really the god Paladine. Raistlin was Fistandantililus Orcus was Tenebrous Bob was your Uncle. 2 characters being the same person is a trope of melodrama. It is a trope D&D might have used too much. If the product is an aggregate of old...

D&D 5E (2014) Bards have an identity problem!

A Bard that tries to keep up spell slot for spell slot with a Wizard, winds up out of spells and reliant on Bardic Inspiration. Arcane Recovery might seem small on paper, but the impact is noticeable. Now the 2e Bard was a Charisma Wizard. Being on the Rogue XP chart meant a Bard was...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

LOL....the whole point was to be humorous ...hence the emoji's and the story about the older wargamer defining the term in a way that would never apply to me. My serious posts rarely include Floppy Disc and Joystick emojis. Yeah....that joke, or rather my Performance Roll was a Natural 1 I...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

The day a D&D product selects an "easier to pronounce name" over a name that has a surplus of repeating consonants is the day the Dread Pentacle is broken, Death then dies, and Cthulhu eats the universe. 😢 🤔🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I actually own the issue..(picture bellow). So in the final issue of Paizo...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

Sorry, this generalization is incorrect. I know Iggwiliv from Tsojcanth. I like the vague details about her in that module. It leaves room for the imagination, and space for DMs to create. I frankly don't care about any D&D "Canon"...it is a TTRPG not a soap opera or comic book. I don't follow...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

From a practical and historical perspective all Canon decisions are arbitrary. The Nag Hammadi texts are out of the Bible, the Book of Matthew is in. The reasons for why this is, comes down to arbitrary preference and interpretation...even if depending on your view it is Divinely inspired...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

That still falls under the category of apocrypha. So in the last gasps of 3.5 D&D, a Paizo team working for WotC makes some changes, that have played no consequential role in the game ever since. Now if in 200 years this change from the Final Days of 3.5 is commonly accepted, then fine...like...

D&D 5E (2014) Iggwilv/Tasha To Join Volo, Xanathar, and Mordenkainen? [UPDATED!]

So in Fourth Edition D&D, Dragon the Online Webpage, for arguably the least popular version of the game decided to equate the creator of Tasha's Hideous Laughter spell will Iggwiliv? That seems to fit the definition of D&D apocrypha, rather then D&D canon. Dragon Magazine, historically has...

D&D 5E (2014) My Response to the "Monk Sucks" thread

Didn't we learn the moral of the story of the Flame Tongue....any character with a Flame Tongue becomes your DPR leader....😄 Give your High Level Monks a Flame Tongue -The cleric spell list past 7th level spells is a bit lackluster. I've seen more uses of upcasting in 8th level + spell slots...

D&D 5E (2014) My Response to the "Monk Sucks" thread

Purity of Body, Diamond Soul, and Empty Body is falling off? This is before subclass powers. Have you read the cleric class, recently?. If high level monk abilities "Fall off"....Cleric abilities must count as a plummet. Yes Empty Body is 18th level, but if you happen to play in a group that...

D&D 5E (2014) My Response to the "Monk Sucks" thread

Given you only get three 2nd level spell slots, depending on the level of the PC, it can be a substantial amount of damage potential expended for a cleric, druid, or ranger, when PWoT is used. On a cleric of Trickery, each PWoT cast is one less potential Spiritual Weapon. Assuming 2 Short...

D&D 5E (2014) My Response to the "Monk Sucks" thread

1e soured me on playing a monk, (though 15" movement did let you run away faster). I appreciate the 5e monk from DMing.

D&D 5E (2014) Another monk thread! Fixing the Way of the 4 Elements

To more closely model the way a Warlock's Pact Magic works, what if the 4E monk also got some built in upcasting. Have the Maximum Ki points for the spell table also become a Minimum Effect table. A 5th level monk could use Fist of Four Thunders, for 2 Ki, but get an effect like they spent 3...

D&D 5E (2014) My Response to the "Monk Sucks" thread

Was this in the same game where Plate Mail was acquired at 2nd level? How much system mastery does this player have? What makes it "hot garbage"?
