What do you expect out of dual wielding?

There are some aspects linked to game mechanics, but first of all it is cool.

Good one-shot starter adventure for Call of Cthulhu

I really love this: http://www.ffproject.com/bodies.htm and it includes everything you asked for. It is an html solo adventure where you chose what you want to do, but in the same website you can find also the text version of this adventure and convert it to whatever ruleset you want.

Self Publishing: What's An Artist Worth?

I have no direct publishing experience (and I'm glad about it!) but I have friends that told me that actually getting the artwork from the artists they employ, apart from the due money, takes also a lot of time. From what I can understand from the other posts, sounds like there are plenty of...

    Do you practice Thread Necromancy?

I grew up believing it's good netiquette not opening double threads, so, before opening a new thread I often double check that there is no other thread discussing previously the same topic (the utilities of this forum are great under this point of view!). If it exists, I post there, rather than...

    When Fantasy Meets Africa

In the past, fantasy Vikings (for example) have been managed and mismanaged by most RPGs in many ways, mostly poor stereotypes, without Scandinavian countries declaring themselves hurt and insulted. The same can be said about merchant republics or Oriental Adventures: I haven't heard any Italian...

    When Fantasy Meets Africa

I think using common references as part of RPGs is a way to keep the descriptions short -a dragon! a goblin! a damsel in distress! a dark forest! a revenge! a kidnap! a barbarian!- while still communicating a lot of information, as you don't need to add much to it. If you had to describe every...

    Thread necromancy

Apologies for hurting your sensitivity! I can see that we come from two very different points of view: personally, I find improper opening a new thread when there is already one about the very same topic in the forum, but I guess it is just a matter of points of view. In my case, doing a forum...

Do You Sometimes Purchase RPG Books Just To Read (Not For Play Purposes)?

It can happen :P Sometimes you buy something and then you don't like it or you find not playable, or you would like to play it but nobody else wants to play with you... ;)

In Addition To RPGs, Do You Play Wargames (Including Tactical Miniatures Games)?

Not recently, but I used to do it and I may go back to it, at some point in the future.

Do You Often Get Beyond Mid-Level Play When RPGing?

I prefer rulesets that don't involve levels, but rather allow you to improve your basic characteristics with experience. WRT D&D, I think that the most enjoyable levels are 5th-6th.

Do You RPG More Than Once Per Week?

Yes, if you include on line gaming.

Does Adulthood Change the RPG Experience Much?

Yes, you want something very different out of a game and the game time is much shorter, so you don't want complicate or time consuming rulesets anymore. You also get over the "play to win" thingy that may be more appealing to youngsters and so often disrupts games.

Do You Only Play D&D For Your RPGing?

While I started playing with the Red Box, in time I went further and further from D&D, trying more rulesets and finding more fitting what I currently want from a game. Multiple D&D editions didn't help much and, fundamentally, editions 3.X convinced me to finally step away from it.

Is There Much Age Difference In Your RPGing Group?

When I started playing, in secondary school, we were all from the same class, so there was no age difference in the group, but now, thirty-something years later, yes. The group may be extremely diverse and we still have fun.
