Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

He can decide to take the initiative on the PR stuff and still be used as a scapegoat. Point being he didn't do this, but acting as the face of wotc for now, he appears to be drawing community ire. This benefits the ones responsible for the OGL fiasco and may pull the attention off those...

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

When the ignorance runs so deep as to be functionally indistinguishable from malice, how should that affect the public response?

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

I now feel that Kyle is being scapegoated. I think the architects of the ogl debacle are pushing him out to the public in the hopes that he will interface with the community and either get them on board, or get them pissed off and make him a sacrificial lamb. Meanwhile, the ones actually...

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

Some of us old farts have been on this merry-go-round, or some flavor of it. It's starting to feel like D&D is the one ring, and its bearer will inevitably become corrupted.

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

It already happened. Pathfinder was the top-selling role-playing game in spring 2011, fall 2012, spring 2013, fall 2013, and summer 2014. During that four-year period, Pathfinder was at times able to outsell Dungeons & Dragons itself, which was the best-selling game through various editions...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

Only because they got caught and shut down. Kyle is being shoved out into the spotlight as a sacrificial lamb. I'm listening to him now and I've heard at least 3 lies so far at the 25 minute mark--which let me be clear, those are lies that I believe he was under orders to tell. He wouldn't just...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

It feels to me like Kyle was just shoved out into the limelight in the hopes that he could "speak the language" and essentially put a face on recent events, hopefully to act as a lightning rod and keep those responsible out of the line of fire. So far I have not heard the architects of the OGL...

I decided to kill that post but you quoted before I completed the edit. :ROFLMAO:

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

So if Kyle Brinks is really not the one responsible for the OGL decisions, it seems to my eyes like he's being used as a scapegoat...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

As an outsider, I did not have the impression that Kyle Brink really had much if anything to do with the ogl fiasco. We need the org chart and I wish 3bh would've asked for that. Can anyone more in the know than myself educate me on this question please?

    D&D General Cautiously excited x2!

I know, it's really wild! I thought what I was writing was so awesome, and I tell you the very MOMENT, INSTANT that I clicked the send button I was washed over by this crazy wave of imposter syndrome... I'm not new to the production world but I am 100% brand new to the gaming production world...

    D&D General Cautiously excited x2!

Can't say much but I just moments ago submitted my very SECOND professionally contracted contribution to ANOTHER d&d thingy in as many weeks! Heck of a birthday gift if I might say so myself! It was a twofer! It was a one-two punch! Pow! I'm honestly not really sure but I assume both these...

D&D General So how about alignment, eh?

The examples I gave move it away from the players but there are many other possibilities. I mean clerics and paladins are pretty much aligned with a particular God anyway, for example. And as it stands right now lawful versus chaotic and good versus evil have to be defined anyway.... I've...

D&D General So how about alignment, eh?

Yeah that happens to me all the time but also how it hits others matters.

D&D General So how about alignment, eh?

You could try an alternative alignment system, more like "who" you're aligned with--e.g. Alignment: Cormyr or Alignment: Rohan or Alignment: Tempus etc... Might provide a little bit more nuance without just dumping the whole idea. You could also simply just exclude it. I don't think it really...

Looks like I picked a bad week to stop smokin'.

D&D General Forgive the vaguepost but I'm cautiously excited

I don't think it will evaporate, so assuming I didn't farkle it up royally, we should see it on obs sometime in the not too distant future (not really sure but shouldn't take too long hopefully). Will post link when I have it.

Site FAQ and/or code of conduct

I was sure they probably were there somewhere! It's just that my old man eyes are getting.... Old. Thank you both very much. I've probably read it all before when I logged in for the first time but, I'm a member of a lot of groups and forums and things just blend together in my increasingly...

Site FAQ and/or code of conduct

Sorry if this is a dumb question, and also for my foot-in-mouth disease if it is, just wondering if there's a site wide rules list here somewhere that makes searches aren't finding?
