    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Warlord Demand Poll

I certainly agree with you on the homebrew front, but that doesn't seem to satisfy the ones wanting the warlord, because apparently "Official" is important. I expect there will be a warlord coming up soon, otherwise we might have heard word about it. It is an odd phenomenon, but as a general...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Warlord Demand Poll

I will say, I voted don't care because I am neither for nor against. In my mind, that is more a vote "For" than "Against", since "For" hurts only those who don't want it, and I lean towards the most people possible being happy. I am not a warlord fanatic or anything, but I think specifically...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Gives You Subclasses For Monk, Ranger, and Paladin

If you could think of some Oath-related level 1 abilities, I would be happy to change Paladins in my world over to that system. I imagine they would have to be pretty small bonuses, like ribbons, to avoid tipping the whole class.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Gives You Subclasses For Monk, Ranger, and Paladin

Guessing you don't watch Jackie Chan? Drunken Fist is an old Kung fu style, relying on unpredictable motion, using momentum to your advantage, and drinking so that you don't feel pain (Probably an American bastardization of the concept, but that is basically what I see this subclass is supposed...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Gives You Subclasses For Monk, Ranger, and Paladin

A Bard would love it. Maybe a Bladelock as well. I actually like the idea of a Hexblade Bladelock, bound to a bloodthirsty weapon that he doesn't want to use, so he takes on an Oath of Redemption, with his ultimate goal being to redeem his Patron. Good story stuff right there. I might actually...

    D&D 5E (2014) Death PTSD

Amazing coincidences. Are Death-Planes-as-Prisons a common trope I didn't know of?

    D&D 5E (2014) Death PTSD

Sounds fun. Technically, a living being could visit my Death plane as well, but they wouldn't be living for very long. It leeches the magic out of souls (In my world people operate under the assumption that the "Soul" Is a spark of magic, as a tie in with a few other forces of balance). The...

D&D 5E (2014) What the warlord needs in 5e and how to make it happen.

I agree, but it is also potentially extremely weak, since there are a lot of ways to gain/give dis/advantage. Maybe if it was an ability that ignored normal limitations, and gave a guaranteed Advantage, even if you would otherwise have disadvantage.

D&D 5E (2014) What the warlord needs in 5e and how to make it happen.

I have been playing with the idea of completely redoing the entire class structure in the style of Warlock. Things like the Extra attacks would be moved to "Invocations", with prerequisites set to the levels the class normally gets them. Just one of my many master-plans to makes the class system...

    D&D 5E (2014) Giving Ranger Expertise

True, but that is a situational thing. It is much simpler, and more useful, to simply give them Expertise to put wherever they like. It does not make much sense that you can have double-proficiency in climbing a mountain, but only proficiency, or even no proficiency, in climbing a tree. Also...

D&D Beyond Beta: Your First Thoughts Thread!

I don't agree at all. That is like saying that too many Movie subscription services turn people off of tv. I don't know anyone who looked at netflix and decided "I am never watching TV again". Not a single one of the subscriptions for D&D are required, and the only way one will even find them is...

    D&D 5E (2014) Giving Ranger Expertise

I am thinking of giving Rangers in my games Expertise, at the same level as Bard. I feel like it fits their area very well (Expert woodsman/wildman), and honestly would fix one of the biggest problems I have seen people have with them. The fact that Fighter can be a ranger just as well as a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Death PTSD

Well, that actually kind of makes sense. Druids would be deep into the Circle of Life thinking, and Clerics would be less perturbed than most, as they actually have an idea of what they are getting since they go to their god. Some random Fighter won't have any such assurance, and very well might...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock Undying Patron Ideas

I have a Warlock who was previously had Davy jones as an undying patron (I changed it to Archfey for my current game in the interest of trying something different.) I also had one that was basically Indiana Jones, but had stirred a Mummy Lord from his sleep, then pledged to do the lords bidding...

    D&D 5E (2014) Defenders in 5th edition

That is easily covered by a Jekyll/Hyde curse, in which Hyde makes him 1 size class larger, but reduces his Intelligence by a lot. He later breaks the bad half of the curse, making him Big and smart. I said Ranger to cover his aquatic/Nature abilities, and Fighter because I vaguely remember...

    D&D 5E (2014) Defenders in 5th edition

Fwiw, I would say Strange is a Warlock, Hulk is Monk/Barbarian, Namor (from what little I remember about him) Would be a high strength fighter, with a little druid maybe? Don't know a lot of Namor. Ranger might work better...

    D&D 5E (2014) Defenders in 5th edition

Daredevil is a Monk/Battlemaster Jessica Jones is a Barbarian/rogue Luke Cage is a Barbarian Iron Fist is a Monk, with maybe one level of Barbarian. Punisher is a Ranger/Vengeance Paladin. EDIT: More specific, I would probably put them all at level 8-10 Daredevil is something like Monk...

What Are These Four Unnamed D&D Products?

Not in an argumentative way, but out of curiosity, what about "Midway" makes you think Planescape? I don't have a personal thought on the matter, as I was not around for any of these settings that people are guessing.

    D&D 5E (2014) What are your experiences playing paladins/rangers?

FWIW, I played a Paladin a little while back. He was an Ancients Paladin of Dionysus, and wielded a thorny-pinecone Morningstar to satisfy the Holy Symbol requirements. I probably could have gone Dual wielder on him, but I was one of the two front-liners in all of his sessions so I needed the AC...

What Are These Four Unnamed D&D Products?

Quite a few people have made their own character sheet designs in the downloads area. There is a real demand for prettier or more efficient character sheets, depending on what one prefers. If I could have a character sheet in the style of that cover, with all of the normally blank space between...
