What Are These Four Unnamed D&D Products?

I love the style of that cover, so I might actually be willing to pay money for it. I will need to see them first though.

D&D 5E (2014) Should Oathbreakers do Necrotic damage rather than Radiant?

Personally, I think that a fallen paladin should be non-magical, so their smite should just be bonus damage of whatever their weapon damage is.

    D&D 5E (2014) UA Sea Sorcerer

Cantrip "Curses" the target until the end of your next turn. Any spell of 1st+ gets rid of the curse if it triggers one of the three damage types. There is no curse duration for 1st level or higher spells, because only a Cantrip can trigger curse.

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

I think you missed the part where most people are saying it isn't a problem "As long as all the players do it". They are all specifically saying that a single player outshining others is a bad thing, but that min/maxing itself is not the bad thing.

D&D Translations Are Coming To A Country Near You!

For that part I was just repeating what a different person had said for an easy way to convert things, without all of the math. I can agree that the best way to handle it would be to have both, but I assume that would increase page count somewhat, and possibly make things somewhat confusing...

D&D 5E (2014) Goals for a party - why should they even go anywhere together?

This is the point I see come up a lot in talks about Evil PC's, and all it ever tells me is that people think "Evil" means "Stupid". Allow me to lay out a quest line for you. The world is going to end, and be devoured by the Great Old ones. Quest ensues to stop it from happening. "Evil PC" is...

D&D Translations Are Coming To A Country Near You!

it assists in tactical terms. Playing ToTM, someone familiar with the metric system will hear "3 meters" and have a general estimate of how far away that is, as opposed to needing an equation to tell them that "10 feet away" means "3 meters". On the other option, it assists in the same way...

D&D 5E (2014) Goals for a party - why should they even go anywhere together?

I currently have an Evil pirate character whose goal is to save people on land, so that they can die at sea for his patron, Davy Jones. Evil doesn't have to mean stupid, despite what so many seem to think. I am not sure I will even bring my alignment up at the table, since he will mostly be...

D&D Beyond Beta: Your First Thoughts Thread!

My point is, that 13+ barrier slows down very few people, if any. Either a parent is involved with D&DB, and wants their child to use it, so they can ignore the 13+, or a child is involved with D&DB without their parent knowing, at which point I don't see a real reason for it not to work. You...

D&D Translations Are Coming To A Country Near You!

Over on the D&DB forums, someone suggested simply changing any mention of "Feet" to meters. So a characters speed is 30 "Meters", they can jump a number of "Meters" equal to their strength score, and spells have a range of 60 "meters". Everything gets a lot bigger, but it is a simple enough...

D&D 5E (2014) Goals for a party - why should they even go anywhere together?

In the case where I was not there, and have only anecdotal evidence, I am not in any position to decide. Oofta, otoh, was there. Much like women are warned to call the police if they feel sufficiently threatened by a stranger, Oofta seems to have been sufficiently convinced of what this person...

D&D 5E (2014) Goals for a party - why should they even go anywhere together?

I think Glyph of Warding can be set to trigger when someone of a certain alignment walks into it, or anyone "Not lawful good" for example.

Did you not read the full thing? The guy may have been attacking women. Evil.

And as we all know, no one could ever possibly lie about their age to bypass such an impenetrable security system.

D&D Translations Are Coming To A Country Near You!

I don't understand the issue. If 2.7 meters is exactly the same as 5 feet*, why would it destroy balance to have something listed as meters instead? If something would "Increase by X number of feet", you would be able to say exactly the same in metric as "Increase by Y number of meters". *Just...

D&D 5E (2014) Goals for a party - why should they even go anywhere together?

Personally, I like your new backstory system better than the character ties. It makes the characters feel much more tightly knit. However, both accomplish the same goal to different degrees.
