D&D Translations Are Coming To A Country Near You!

I wonder if this also includes the conversion to metric that people have been asking for over on DnDB forums.

D&D 5E (2014) Hypervelocity bards (WAS Fixing the bard's action economy (quick suggestion))

Maybe. I have noticed that a large number of EN world posters are mechanics focused, or dead set on maintaining status quo. It has gotten to the point where most homebrew threads result in at least one response of "But why would you change it. It is fine.", or "Why do that? use this multiclass...

D&D 5E (2014) Hypervelocity bards (WAS Fixing the bard's action economy (quick suggestion))

Just commenting on the fact that this thread has stretched this far on people either agreeing with you or disagreeing with you, and basically no headway has been made towards anything. It happens, but this seems like an especially odd case to me, for some reason. Maybe because the root of the...

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

eh, depends on if you go stock dwarves or not. Most races in my world don't behave like default D&D versions, and honestly most of my characters don't either. I consider personality to be separate from race, otherwise you wind up with a thousand dwarves who all hate water, and elves. Makes them...

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

I actually had Blackbeard in my world planned as a Dwarf Paladin who follows the Pirate code as his oath.

    D&D 5E (2014) class mastery

I think the simplest solution would be to let it happen. at 3rd level, pick 2 sublcasses. You gain abilities from both at relevant levels. As long as everyone in the game is doing it, it will work out fine. The only problem would be if one person did, and others didn't.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Takes On Theurgy & War Magic

I am slightly disappointed in the war mage. The first thing I thought of when I read it was a Wizard for mass combat, and this guy will not do well in that. I would have liked some range increase, possibly some siege style ability like "Your evocation spells bypass the Damage Thresh hold of...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana, Wizard Revisited

Oh, I didn't see any other threads on the subject. Oops. That's what I get for skimming only the first half a page of threads... EDIT: Yep, I see them now. You can go ahead and close this one if you like.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana, Wizard Revisited

So, all this kerfuffle over the DnDBeyond seems to have thrown UA under the bus. Here is the newest one, featuring a new shot at Thuergy, and all new War Magic! http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/wizard-revisited

D&D Beyond Beta: Your First Thoughts Thread!

My first impressions. I like it. I has all of the functionality I was hoping for (In the "compendium" section anyway.) Easy to search for spells and such, and makes it quite easy to find out what spell choices I have as a Wizard/Bard, with access to 3rd level spell slots. Cannot wait for the...

A Few More Tidbits About D&D Beyond From The Developer

That is pretty much all twitch does. It is a live-streaming service, for all sorts of stuff. Geek and Sundry has Critical Role on their twitch channel, some (most) people run video games. A little while ago Twitch started a marathon of all the old Bob Ross painting show, which they do something...

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

I have actually not built a low charisma character yet. All of them have some root in being good with people, and their Intelligence is usually middling (the exception being my Wiz/Bard with 16 int)

D&D 5E (2014) Where does optimizing end and min-maxing begin? And is min-maxing a bad thing?

To play an opposing point of view, you have to dumb it down to play your idea(or your groups idea) of a 12 int. It is possible that all of you over-estimate yourselves, as about 80% of the population does. I would say the main thing most RPGers can boast is greater imagination, rather than...

    D&D 5E (2014) Jurassic Park Erm Plane

Borrowing from Marvel, "The Savage Plane"? Simple and to the point, as such a place should be. You can have an effect that slowly lowers a PC's intelligence while they are there, maybe something like "after one week on this plane, make a CHA save vs (DC). If you fail your intelligence drops by...

    D&D 5E (2014) Tabaxi claw attack

Weapons that have been known historically(Pop-culture historically, not real historically) as weapons that use skill rather than power. Anything that is seen as a weapon for weak people to use against the strong, usually after the strong one insults their "Puny toothpick".
