D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else think the Bard concept is just silly?

FWIW, I generally see it used in a similar way to what Brandegoris is saying he/she meant. It brings to mind one Jeopardy episode. the answer was "This flower name has been used to refer to left-wing liberals". One contestant answered "Pansy", while the correct answer was "Bleeding Heart"*. In...

D&D 5E (2014) Nonstandard Races You Love And Want Back

I am working on something like that for my world, though it is mostly an off-the-cuff thing. If someone wants to play a Half-Dwarf/Half-Elf, I ask which race they want to be their base, and apply a little bit from the other Base race to that as a Subrace. For example, this Half-Dwarf/Half Elf...

D&D 5E (2014) So long and thanks for all the fish!

The amusing part, to me, is that a good chunk of the conversation is ignoring OP anyway, despite the thread subject. Luckily, OP will never be back to complain about the thread getting derailed.

Also, according to Marvel, you haven't even changed rank. http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Erica_Fortune_(Earth-616)

The question is, is it really an upgrade? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spellbinder_(DC_Comics)

Being behind on the UAs does not mean the ones that are in the thread won't be helpful. Unless you know a thread that has all of them collected, preferably with links to their ENworld discussions as well as the UA itself, I think that thread should stay.

    D&D 5E (2014) Cantrip Warrior

Depends on the level. I would probably start muscle-wizard, with a decent Cha. Goal is Blade singer, and later multiclass into Blade-lock and EK. EK for extra melee capabilities, and Bladelock for the Invocations and Pact weapon. Between Pact weapon and Bonded Weapon you will always be armed...

D&D 5E (2014) Assumptions on Hit Points and Armor Class...

It is tied to HP being ambiguous, I think. Because HP can represent "luck", you can prevent losing luck by dodging on purpose, hence Dex being added to AC. Stronger armors replace this skill with a solid foundation, allowing you to bear the brunt of attacks despite not actually avoiding them. Of...

That implies it is impossible to start an argument with you. As a topic for debate, I believe you have lost this one already. You should have said nobody can win an argument with you. But that would be false as well, based on those sentences I just said. :P

D&D 5E (2014) Nonstandard Races You Love And Want Back

My first order of business when making my world was deciding how many of each race survived the Apocolypse, and it's aftermath. The answer for humans is almost none, as their inherent flexibility made them easy targets for Chaotic Corruption that turned them into little more than mad animals...

D&D 5E (2014) Get the most out of hex

If you are a high enough level for it to last 8 hours, it should already last through a short rest. Starting duration is only 1 minute, so a short rest of any length will be longer than the duration of your spell.

D&D 5E (2014) UA: Revised Ranger, Primeval Awareness in town

Tell them there is a ridiculous number of targets. Too many to count in the time span allowed by Primeval Awareness. As for encounter design, I would just allow them immunity to surprise from Humanoids. "By the way, you know from using your Primeval awareness earlier that you are coming up on a...

That doesn't even make sense. "Keeping my eyes out for monsters" would fall under watching for danger, so you would still get your passive as a floor to your roll for that. What would shut it off is if you were foraging, mapping, or tracking.
