    Balancing Wizards and Clerics

All in all though, nothing much you can do to balance out casters with the other classes without cherry picking OUT the spells with vague wording or massive negatives that can't be countered except with other magic. (typically freedom of movement as the fix vs the powerful spell)

    Another Disintegrate question

As was said slightly before me, Untyped is actually a meaningful game term and is used in the rules as a way of saying it stacks with everything/ it can't be stopped by resistance/ etc.

    DM problems

First, Welcome to ENworld. Honestly, I have made similar mistakes to your ladder/stair problem. The difference is when my players say something, I correct my error and go with whatever I first said. That said, when he had a grid that clearly showed a 10 foot wide hallway you stick with it or...

    20 Questions about your Game

Ability scores generation method? 5d6 drop the lowest two, assort as desired. Reroll anything under 13 we have HIGH powered games. How are death and dying handled? Death at -10 HP, Dying at -1 lose 1HP every round unless stablized, At 0 one action then Dying. Pretty much the basics. What about...

D&D 3.x How many free actions do you get per round (3.5)?

I am pretty sure the 5ft. step is the only misc. action. It isn't really a free action because it limits you from moving, but it isn't a move action because you can still use a full round action...it is complicated.

D&D 3.x How many free actions do you get per round (3.5)?

Agreed. Drawing an arrow was a good example.

    arcane channeling +13th level DB + orb = 50 d6 +/-

I knew I was probably off on that one.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Most Nerf-Worthy and Ban-Worthy Spells?

No spells, you just have to have an agreement about what the more open ended spells can do, like Miracle, Wish, etc.

    arcane channeling +13th level DB + orb = 50 d6 +/-

Easiest one is Monster Manual, all the rest pretty much use it as a basis. As a Barbarian the easiest way to get it comes from Unearthed Arcana I think...Lion Totem Barbarian alternate class feature.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 - Multiclass XP penalty -20% yay or nay?

I don't always ignore RAW, but when I do, it is xp penalty.

    Jumping Limits

This is D&D, not real life. This is a Fantasy game, where we fight dragons and slay demons! When was the last time you saw an elf, gnome, or orc in your home town? Don't think that "realism" is even half necessary in a game like this.

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

Is everything on them home-brew? Or is it mostly basic items?

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

Context matters, are they all martial PCs that could benefit from the weapon? or are some wizards/clerics/druids/spellcasters who are going to have more power than that sword can ever have?

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

I am a huge fan of giving non-standard equipment out, so much so that 99% of my planning before a session, dungeon, or anything really is me creating balanced items that I have a pre-planned price for and everything. The other 1% is story and characters, but being a writer and knowing the rules...

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

The reason I am replying to this more than I typically do any thread, is because I recently came across all of these problems in games I am either DMing or playing in currently. The potential for jealous players ruining the unique abilities of a PC or having a player feel ganged up on are vast...

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

The tricky thing with Artifacts is that they really are priceless, and just handing them out as presents doesn't do it any justice. If you are intent in going about it like that though, I suggest they come across the artifacts during adventures so it at least feels like they earned it rather...

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

That would devalue the one they have already. When a party member has something special they like it, if suddenly everyone were to get Relics of gods they are related to/worship I would find mine less interesting and would probably just never use them. Though it would be fair, there is a bit of...

How do I price a sword that absorbs other weapon's abilities?

At this point that is moot, I looked back and it doesn't actually change the price because as I assumed and someone else mentioned the potential is already in the price. Have you looked at the ring's price? Minor -18,000 Regular 50,000 Major- 200k it factors in the fact that it will be holding...
