    Kobolds - Is this legal?

Yes, a DM can advance a monster by increasing its HD, but a player cannot advance a character that way. Not normally, anyway.

    Jump and Tumble Question...

So the ability to "land softly" affects what happened up at the start of the fall? That seems silly, and I'm glad we don't play it that way.

Grasp of the Emerald Claw: some spoilers

Didn't you say it only worked once a week? What do you do, clear one room, leave the dungeon for a week, and come back to do the next room?

    Jump and Tumble Question...

Yes, you can do both. The Jump check is to let yourself down gently when you jump off, and the Tumble check is to roll gently when you land. They're two separate things. Note that you only get the Jump check if you jump off, not if you're pushed off unexpectedly.

    living doll

The best response is "You're already a living doll, sweetheart." That makes sense for a monster, but I don't think it'd work very well for a PC. (What's the LA of an awakened animated object?) You'd be better off starting with a PC race. I like the tiny warforged idea.

AoO Q - Cat vs. Commoner

So, a cat can attack a human, but only if it has the Spring Attack feat...?

Silence and the rogue's sneak attack

I don't think a sneak attack is silent. It is an attack after all. A single sneak attack against an unaware target might be quieter than a full fight (which has Listen DC -10) but by no means silent. If the targets are helpless, you can do a coup de grace and I'd say that's pretty quiet but...

Eric Noah, post in this thread. Everyone else stay out.

Am I allowed to post here? I didn't think I was Eric Noah, but after reading this thread I'm not so sure.

    Ack! Finding an Alarm spell

It seems that the rules for traps assume that Alarm is used only as the trigger part of a trap, not as a trap by itself. And the Search skill doesn't include Alarm in the list of magic spells that are traps - but clearly it should be, IMO. The DC would be 26 as you said.

    Characters without Bling

Fun is what happens at the table. Whether it's the Shadowdancer using his k3wl p0werz to gank a warlock, or the fighter mowing down a crowd of hobgoblins, it's fun when your guy gets to be the hero. No-one cares how many pounds of gold chain he has around his neck.

    Open Gaming License Question

Look for the OGL declaration. If a book has an OGL declaration it will tell you what you can re-use. But I bet you won't find such a declaration in Fiendish Codex II. WotC doesn't publish open content in its books (with a couple of exceptions, like Unearthed Arcana). WotC's open content is...

    Riding an invisible mount?

You don't watch your horse when you're riding, you watch where you're going. Do you penalize your players' attack rolls when they're under an invisibility spell? or their balance, climb or tumble checks? No? Then there shouldn't be a penalty for riding an invisible mount.

    DR/Size?

No, I don't think it's appropriate. The pin-prick-ness of the blow is represented by the large number of hit points the creature has. It doesn't matter which part of the creature is damaged, it still hurts. (There are exceptions, such as sneak attack, that explicitly say you have to reach a...

Help finding an open content monster

How about using a humanoid with class levels? Command is a cleric spell, but I like a sorcerer or bard using suggestion. (We had a mindbender messing us up pretty good in one of our games recently, but that's a non-open PrC.)

    Damage Reduction

The rules for damage reduction are here and in the MM (near the back). DR applies to weapon damage, not elemental or purely magical damage. So, no DR on magic missile or alchemist's fire. A flaming longsword gets its 1d6 of fire damage, even if the 1d8 of sword damage is reduced. DR 5/magic...
