Thanks, S.B. Your volunteer efforts have been taken for granted around here - I hope the site can limp along for a while without your constant ministrations. :)

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Spells - Far Weaker?

Maybe not better, but nevertheless there are plenty of players who will just cast fly and invisibility on themselves without even bothering to consult the rogue. :(

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Spells - Far Weaker?

Why would you be out scouting by yourself, when a flying invisible wizard can do it better? Wizards are still plenty powerful in 3.5. If they've been "nerfed" from 3.0, well, they must have needed it!

Magic of Eberron - any good?

Now, be fair. If Magic of Eberron covered all the magic of Eberron, what would WotC publish next month?

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

Phew! That was close! In the end, we survived and so did almost everyone else in New Cyre. :D It turns out that the "demonstration" scheduled for that morning was to be a small, temporary version of the Cyre disaster, and all we did was trigger it a bit early. We managed to escape the...

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

Here we go... We're about to find out how big a disaster we caused. Edit: It seems that New Cyre has survived. Not sure about us yet.

    Mods - Close thread, please.

I was trying to search the other day, and I came to the conclusion that search can't find anything from 2004 and most of 2005. :(

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

No kidding. Prince Oargev turned the annual blowing-up-of-Cyre celebration into a big diplomatic event to promote the independence of New Cyre. The place is full of nobles and diplomats.

Humanoid and Monsterous Humanoid: what makes a man, a man?

    A man's a man if he's a Dwarf!

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

We haven't yet found out how this turned out, but the DM did mention that he's looking for a copy of Gamma World d20...

    What happened to Cyre?

According to notes we found in a laboratory in Metrol, my character's aunt was trying to develop a magical weapon for the Cyran military, and one of her experiments went wrong. Now she's at it again.

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

It's not exactly the type of rep we're looking for. Actually, we have two different reps, depending if you read the Sharn Inquisitive or the Korranberg Chronicle. :)

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

Stigma? Could it really be worse than the time we were dominated by vampires and turned into a roving hit-squad? Well, I suppose we could potentially kill a greater number of aristocrats this way.

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

That won't happen as long as a certain player keeps his Scarred Lands books locked in a cupboard.

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

OK, we'll go with "tactical repositioning". Not so sure about "dignified" though - in my eyes Talon lost a lot of his dignity when he was reincarnated as a halfling. :p I'm glad to see that there are 3 optimists who think we didn't blow up a piece of the world. :) (BTW, I seem to recall that...

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

Thanks for giving my DM ideas. Yes, they did a nice job of leaving some blanks while providing hooks to help you fill them in. We now know pretty much of what happened in the Mournlands. But I wouldn't be surprised if those questions are answered unequivocally by future...

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

We don't have many more magical nukes to destroy cities with, but on the other hand we do seem to be pretty good at doing the one thing the DM didn't plan for, forcing him to change the whole adventure on the fly. :D

Did we blow up Cyre (again)? [Eberron]

It was New Cyre this time. Here's what happened: At a big celebration in New Cyre, Prince Oargev (formerly of Cyre) announced that there would be an important demonstration of some kind the next day. We knew this meant trouble because standing next to the prince was Patria, current BBEG and the...

    Free Adventure Path

We were fine with that adventure. The paladin killed a baby, but it was an accident. :) But we didn't keep the Keep as our base of operations. It was way out in the middle of nowhere and I knew we'd just have to spend all of our time defending it against bugbears and whatnot.

    Druid animal companions

Remember that when you advance a monster's hit dice, it doesn't mean that a monster is "growing" to a larger size. A regular wolf is a normal full-size adult wolf, not a small baby wolf. An advanced wolf is a larger-than-normal adult wolf. They're not the same wolf at different ages.
