Very interesting. I love random generation of adventures. I use the D&D and the Mage Knight boardgames in a similar fashion. Might pick up a copy of Talisman.
I really enjoyed the 7e (d&d4e). We played a few games and had fun. I vaguely remember playing the version with the bunnies a using hunting rifles illustration.
Ordered my copy today. Glad to learn the adventure is flexible and more like a sandbox.

There are three (3) main classes of characters: Fighting-Men, Magic-Users, Clerics. The thief, with percentages, appeared in 1975 in the Book IV, Greyhawk Supplement.
