    D&D 5E (2024) How D&D Beyond Will Handle Access To 2014 Rules

All but a couple of people I play with left DDB over the 24 rules implementation in the character generation tool, and every new player gets 0 DDB exposure when they start with us.

Wizards of the Coast Is Sunsetting Sigil's Active Development

It is poor form to ask a question and then call the answer a lie. Yes we are often playing with 3-4 players that don't not even own dice. It is a nice draw for new players when they don't have to bring anything at all to play. I usually tell someone that is intrested in playing to get 3-5...

Wizards of the Coast Is Sunsetting Sigil's Active Development

It is great it works for you, however my groups do not use the new rules, and most games are with players that have never played D&D before. For us, trying to get the new players onboard and playing we have found that starting a a new player on DDB may save a a few minutes over manually...

WotC Mike Mearls: "D&D Is Uncool Again"

It is harder to use than it was before the 24 rules were implemented. That doesn't mean it is hard to use, but for my groups it isn't easier than not using DDB. Given that, we find it is well worth skipping DDB and using paper sheets as we find the effort makes for a much faster, smoother and...

D&D 5E (2014) Why is no one talking about THE BOOK OF MANY THINGS?

I bought the digital copy simply because I wanted a part of the book (cardomancer) and piecemeal was not an option though many on DDB claimed it was do to the nature of the book and not a systemic change to the site which it actually became, it was not worth it to me. Nor has any offering since...

Wizards of the Coast Is Sunsetting Sigil's Active Development

DDB pre wizbro was an excellent tool for both in-person and online games, since they bought the site it has become increasingly difficult to use anytime they modify the site, out of 30 plus players in the groups i play in, 1 yes 1 single player uses DDB, and everyone else uses books pencil and...

angles do not require balance unless they are part of a triangle, pins are points and thus do not require balance either.

WotC Mike Mearls: "D&D Is Uncool Again"

I am confused are we supposed to be upset with how Mearls plays his games, or the assumption he can tell us how to play our games, because the last time I checked if you're not sitting at the table I am you literally have no say in how we decide to play our game no matter what IP you control or...

Project Sigil Sigils not dead yet. Claim a mimic mini for Sigil at dndbeyond.

I think "syncing your entitlements" sums up how wizbro feels about its customers and their purchases pretty well. 🤔

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

Considering to OP couches the thread as a discussion on the entertainment value of the video and nothing else, the thread is right on track.

I do not find him entertaining in the least.

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

Yep, finding a good D&D group is a lot like finding a good life partner. Oneshots are D&D equaliivent of speed dating.

Wizards of the Coast Is Sunsetting Sigil's Active Development

One group I Dm'd, we played in the media room with maps on the main screen and pased a tablet around for players to move their characters, it was pretty cool. We have since gone to maps and minis as no one wants to use/pay for DDB any longer.

WotC Mike Mearls: "D&D Is Uncool Again"

Isn't there a book or two titled something along the lines of monsters knowing what they are doing?

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

I think the message is some forever DM's experience fatigue on 5e because the only group they can get to play wants to play 5e, and none of them want to DM. If the group would either play a different ttrpg, or another member of the group is willing to DM, there would be less DM fatigue. Atleast...

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

I am not a forever DM, but I do DM more than I would like simply because when getting a group together I always offer to DM unless someone else wants too followed up with anyone that wants to DM can use any and all of my books tools and content. Those interested i reccomend several videos...

WotC Mike Mearls: "D&D Is Uncool Again"

Many cite this as a problem with the CR of monsters in both versions of 5e, along with many of the published adventures at low (read as beginner for both players and DM'S) levels. Character death has always been a part of official D&D, though it is certainly one of many things that any table is...

D&D General Matt Colville on the “Forever DM”

I reccomend his videos to new dm's all the time, the only issue I have is i don't watch him anymore so it get weird when we talk about dming and they reference his stuff. I do let them know when I reccomend they watch his stuff I don't watch his videos, but they usually are so excited they want...
