    D&D 4E *** 4e Stats for Spined Devil ***

hit points: 8 (max for 1 HD) + (5 x 5.5) + 12 (con bonus) = 47 There we go... that seems to make sense now. EDIT: no it doesn't. That 5.5 is wrong. Hmm. how about d6? using triple starting? 18 + 17 + 12 = 47 Aha! But that's assuming d6 HD for immortals.... or maybe skirmishers... which...

    D&D 4E *** 4e Stats for Spined Devil ***

The Spined devil is the bonus mini you get at game day, and it comes with both a 3.5e and 4e stat card. If you look around a bit, you'll find it. Here are the 4e stats. Obviously, some of it is crazy weird. Spined Devil Medium Immortal Humanoid Init +5 Speed 5 Fly 7 Senses...

    Find the Anime Challenge

I humbly submit an example of westerrn-style "anime" that has nothing to do with 3e. http://studiofoglio.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=STF204&Category_Code=Girl_Genius Hmm, that does seem familiar, though doesn't it? Let's seeee...

Is 4th edition getting soft? - edited for friendly content :)

It's a bit better now, but SoD spells are still too reliable. Here's a quick example. Say a 19th level party is going up against a very old dragon, CR21, and its minions. The final confrontation begins and initiative is rolled. On the first round, the 18th level wizard casts an empowered ray...

Is 4th edition getting soft? - edited for friendly content :)

I'm almost positive that there'll be a finger of death. It'll just be made a bit less arbitrary... like take 4d6 con damage, 2d6 if you save. Still lethal, but far less likely to leave the player warping the table with a death grip and mentally deciding how big a chair he's going to shove down...

    How do Saga skills work?

Whoah, there. Feats don't grow on trees. If the rogue decided to take both skill training AND skill focus, and the wizard is a lot less dexterous than the rogue then I'd say that's a pretty fair spread. Take the skill focus away from the rogue (after all, he's not gonna have it in every feat)...

    No full attack option?

Two weapon fighting in Star Wars SEEMS to be a pretty effective alternative to 2H-weapon fighting. It's certainly better than it is in 3.5e. Consider: (1) Every class in SW:SE gets a number of feats equal to the 3.5e fighter, making feats much easier to acquire. (2) For three feats, a 2H...

Why do you think warforged = robots?

Hmm, a few comments: (1) Warforged do not suffer from the "who am I?" quandry of data and other robots. They know who and what they are, but they don't know their place in society. Think less Data and more Jason Bourne (2) Actually, I lied. Warforged don't really know what they are because...

    Changes to Devils and Demons

I'm hoping that this doesn't insult the Planescape fans here. I think PS is a novel take on D&D cosmology, and cool in its own way. But anyway.... My first experience with Demons/Devils came from the 1e Monster Manual, and the impressions I got from those entries were... terrifying, really...

    Shadowcaster fixes by Mouseferatu

Hi Mouse, I have an alternative to the bonus spells/day mechanic. I wouldn't mind hearing your opinions on it. To my mind, just as you've said before, there are only a few levels where the shadowcaster is much more limited in terms of spell slots than the wizard. I think these levels can be...

TOB: Stance progression: problems for crusader

I'm sympathetic, but there's a core precedent for this- the fighter has to burn a feat to get weapon specialization, even though the weapon specialization tree is the fighter's only exclusive class feature. They might have designed Immortal Fortitude that way.... ... though I doubt it.
