    Auctioning Gaming Materials

A friend of mine has recently been looking at culling his collection of gaming materials. He managed to sell a small lot of some early non-D&D RPG stuff, circa 1978, for a few hundred bucks. Regardless of game or edition, what sort of luck have you had selling off older gaming materials via...

    GaryCon II Post Convention Antics

Oh, I'm just sharing the links and the story. None of this is of my own design or creation. I can take no credit for anything other than the spreading of the joy. :D

Mearls is the new manager of D&D

Go with the half-spleen and use your WoW names. ;) The rubric for sharing opinions with WotC isn't whether or not you understand. Incidentally, I seem to recall your signature line during the first year of 4E mentioning that you didn't play 4E but that never seemed to stop you from posting...

    GaryCon II Post Convention Antics

Many will remember from the silent auction at GaryCon II last March that a copy of Mazes and Monsters, the 1982 Tom Hanks D&D-esque indictment/movie, was auctioned along with an appropriate device with which to experience the film (check this blog report, about eight photos down). Well, now a...

Why Have You Disabled Experience Points?

There were several posters who were hit so hard they couldn't make the margin call. They are still posting in negative space to get out of the hole.

This Weekend @ The Boxoffice: 2010.Feb.01

I dropped $5 on the cheap show for RH on Friday, enjoyed a few one liners in it but otherwise was unimpressed at this movie-length sequel setup, then saw IM2 the same way Saturday and enjoyed it a bit more. There's a big drop off from #1 to #5. Seems strange to think that so few movies can...

Recommend a good wargaming system for RPGers

Both well worth reading no matter what system you use. You'll find yourself far better equipped to make adjustments with a system, to better highlight the aspects you wish to have to the forefront, after reading what Neil Thomas has to say on the matter.

    STARGATE UNIVERSE # 17:Pain/Season 1/2010

They're just getting us used to seeing Riley around so we'll be surprised when he turns evil, seemingly out of nowhere, and to throw us off the scent of Chloe being the Lucian Alliance member.

I need a city - looking for product recommendations

Here's a deal on four books I would find hard to pass up - Thieves' World d20 Lot - RPG Lots - Dungeons and Dragons RPGs Plus, any and all of the Thieves World novels could be used to add even more depth.

Chicago Gameday 26 (6/12/10) Planning Thread

I'm going to give up my second slot spot to James Skach and family so they can run one of their minis games (in which I hope to participate). In that first slot, I am going to switch gears and run a boardgame, Avalon Hill's 1974 classic, Kingmaker! Feel free to grab as much of a write up as...

    The Straight Dope on D&D c. 1980

I guess he updates some of his articles and there are some letters he doesn't get to answer immediately (especially back in snail mail days). Could be either or both, I guess.
