    Moderator Emeritus

Naw. PMs and emails can get lost in the shuffle. It's a big site (plus he's got a real job and a new wife, plus a dog) and he probably gets hundreds of PMS and emails every week. Meta threads seem to be the best way to eventually get something in front of him. Plus it's a site thing more so...

Morrus - You missed a Moderator Emeritus from the list who was the last brought on by Eric Noah, helped out through 9/11 (trying times for all) and retired when he started his ePublising business (to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest). :)

    OD&D example of play

I'm familiar. :D I think both are accurate descriptions of how it played out at the table at various times. I recall some marathon sessions where whoever could keep most awake was stuck being "caller" in the late hours. ;)

    OD&D example of play

IME, the caller isn't interceding for the DM, he is simply streamlining the general actions of the group for the group, though any group member could jump in at any time if something is not being done in their interest. There seems to be this idea that the Caller is taking something away from...

    OD&D example of play

The Caller is the OOC-leader of the group and handles most of the direct discussion with the DM. He doesn't control the group, he simply anticipates most of their regular actions and relates them to the DM. While one of the other players might be playing the PC who is actually the leader of...

    Problem Player Woes

As DM, it is your job to make sure everyone is having fun and that no one is causing problems for the rest of the group. The problem player is not leaving you any choice in the matter and telling him that as you let him know he is no longer welcome should alleviate the feelings of guilt you...
