    D&D 5E (2014) Ridiculous Campaign Setting Idea

No worries, I can understand it's a bit too much horror-tinged for some. Thanks heaps for the amazing artwork! Those are some really nice illustrations, I'm particularly taken by I've an idea of a Piston Knight fighter subclass, where you get a pool of steam points that you can use to enhance...

Hopefully it'll involve something about Spellscape, I mean Planejammer!

    D&D 5E (2014) Ridiculous Campaign Setting Idea

Hex-Arctorius Cold mountainous slopes and temperate, verdant forests dot the twin-countries of Hexenland and Echt Arctorius. It's a land known for hearty meals and strong ale, raising strong and hardy folk. Family is greatly important in Hex-Arctorius, and folk commonly live in communal...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ridiculous Campaign Setting Idea

Thanks heaps, bro, yeah, tried to introduce something different into the mix :) but I also can't claim all the inspiration for the seed of campaign setting idea. I was inspired by a video on Don't Stop Thinking's YouTube channel, and just embellished a lot more and changed it up a bit. Good...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ridiculous Campaign Setting Idea

Imagine the thundering stampede of a barbarian horde descending upon you like a manifest storm, yet the calamitous commotion sounds wrong, it sounds panicked. The horde sweeps all before it, gathering all upon this battlefield like gathering wheat, sweeping them away on swift wings. This horde...

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

Oh, to go back to the heady days of Cloak and Dagger :D Imagine an update of that superlative supplement, and include faction mechanics like they have in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica and Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, include faction interactions, include NPC statbooks, and then include all...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

That's no worries, it just means it's an opportunity for a third-party to create something of that nature, I may just actually get off my arse and write out a thoroughly dangerous, fantastical jungle setting!

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

I really quite thoroughly enjoyed Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, but even so was slightly let down by the absence of a few more subclasses that were playtested but didn't quite make the cut for publication, but that's neither here nor now. Based on the previews from Theros, I think I'll...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

Those quite excellent Planeshift articles were quite a treat! I'd imagine Wizards was able to monitor the number of downloads for the Planeshift docs as well as the UA articles, and I'm guessing the time was perfect for a mash-up of D&D and Magic to occur, especially with the fan demand for a...

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

I must thoroughly be in the throes of corporate control, as I too have multiple copies of all of the 5e books, one for rules use, one for reading, one for the collection, and one for any kids I may have. Damn those mind flayers at Wizards for their deviousness!

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

That monster list already looks utterly amazing  I wonder if we would see stats for the gods themselves? It's also excellent to see the Wizards D&D team has grown quite substantially, and they seem to be applying the same steady hand in guiding the formation of their books. Great all around.

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

My capacity for hope is incandescent :) if they could release a PHB, say with an eventual 5.5e or 6e, that'll be amazing.

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

Since the Starter Rules have been extremely well received and successful, it's my hope that one day Wizards could release the PHB and/or MM and/or DMG as free pdfs on their website, with any other books needing to be bought. That'll place them in a multiverse of good will.

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

I really think this cannot be understated enough, it's always being our choice that we exercise in buying the books.

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

I, for one, would love to see pdf versions of supplements sold along with the physical hard copy! Unfortunately as it stands, I don't think that's feasible, unless Wizards revamps its sales model. Wizards only has print-runs of its books, and these books are then sold through suppliers...
