[Expeditious Retreat Press] Advanced Adventures #22: Stonepick Crossing

Stonepick crossing is an OSRIC(tm) module designed for 6-10 adventures of levels 1-3. For those who don't know, OSRIC is the retro-clone of First Edition. Given the re-releases of the original core books, people should know there's a lot of support for the game. The tiny town of Stonepick...

4e $1 sale on Expeditious Retreat Press products

Our shipping rates are a bit wonky when many products are ordered as we have to calculate all shipping at the 1st pound weight (which is the most expensive). What I do is reimburse customers for excess shipping & handling once we've shipped the product. joe b.

Advanced Adventures the focus of scholarly paper...

Heh. :) His discipline is in Popular Culture so I'd hope that, if not now, sometime in the future it won't seem any different than studies of any other type of popular culture. joe b.

Advanced Adventures the focus of scholarly paper...

from my blog, Sorcery & Super Science! Excerpt: "There are so few scholarly treatments of table-top gaming, that I thought I should let everyone know that I'm majorly stoked that our Advanced Adventures line is the focus of a Master's degree paper about art, nostalgia, and the Old-School...

Emirikol the Chaotic was fleeing in Rhodes

I've always been entranced by the illustration of Emirikol the Chaotic in the DMG and I've just found out that the background was based upon a street in Rhodes called Street of the Knights. Thanks to the Bat in the Attic blog and the commenter there called pseckler13. Awesome! joe b.

Magic Item Wishlist: Yea or Nay?

I don't use them. IMO, magic item placement is a world creation activity and entirely up to the DM. I also don't place magic items based upon their usefulness to the players. They're there for other, entirely non-character deterministic, reasons. joe b.

    The 1e Tournement

There were 4 different types of scoring. Exploratory Scoring - the party earns a certain number of points based upon the number of areas explored (the goal was to map out a newly discovered cave in Stonesky Mountain) based upon the number of characters that survive. This was a table not that...
