    Indie Publisher Cross Promotion

Hi! This sounds like a great initiative, thanks for setting it up. I was wondering if this group would still be useful for someone like me — I don’t launch campaigns on Kickstarter. I usually publish directly on DriveThruRPG or work with specific indie publishers for distribution. Would...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

That's an interesting point of view. I imagined that a game without any illustrations wouldn't generate interest in people, but if I could put together a version without illustrations but with system and marketing improvements, I could offer it as an improved free version.

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

I couldn't agree more. Controversy aside, any visual resource in a game must always be consistent and convey the tone and setting of the game. For me, that's key. It's not just about having drawings that represent things; art is part of the manual, just like every page with text, layout...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Not in that particular style, no. My games lean more toward horror and different aesthetics, but I'm always interviewing new artists. If I see one that fits what you're looking for, I'll mention it here!

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

I didn't make a decision in the sense that you think, and I agree that this is not the place to debate the issue of AI, nor to give our views on it. It's a sensitive issue and, at least personally, I prefer to accept and understand everyone's positions without imposing anything on anyone. I only...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Thank you very much for your response, and I understand perfectly. I like your idea of making a gesture to those who purchased the first version. Although the margins are small and don't normally cover the investment, I think it would be nice to sacrifice a little to make a gesture. It would...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Yes, that's a good point, and you're absolutely right. It's more a question of siding with the public who supported me with the first game when I was more of a novice and who don't get anything else for doing so, but you're also right that they weren't promised anything, they supported me of...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Thanks for your reply! Of course, if I go for the option of changing the artwork and making the game paid, I would still keep the free version as a separate version, but those who downloaded the free version would not be updated to the new version; it would be like a new game.

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Hello! Thank you for responding! However, in my country, we do not have access to Kickstarter, and its equivalents are not effective. Furthermore, I am personally against crowdfunding; charging people in advance seems unethical to me. Users should pay for the finished product because they like...

Replace AI art with real art and charge for it? Looking for advice.

Hey everyone, A little over a year ago, I released my first tabletop RPG: Your World Has Been Deleted. Before that, I had only worked on board games. Unfortunately, my last board game had left me completely broke — I didn’t have a single coin to invest — but I still wanted to write and publish...

OSR What does OSR mean to you? What do you value most in an OSR game?

“Rulings, not rules” is interesting, I understand the concept, and what do you think about the use of tables classic style, several OSR make use of tables of reusltados, effects, wounds or own character creation, releasing a burden on the narrator, and in my opinion, giving a role more of a...

OSR What does OSR mean to you? What do you value most in an OSR game?

Completely agree with the first point, there is a tendency to put as great OSR classic games like Stormbringer 3rd/4th and games from the 80's, when that is exactly what OSR are inspired by in theory. On the other hand, I haven't seen that term NuSR before.

OSR What does OSR mean to you? What do you value most in an OSR game?

Hey everyone, I’m curious to hear different perspectives from the community about what OSR really means to you. The term gets thrown around a lot, and depending on who you ask, it can mean old-school rules, a certain style of play, a design philosophy, or just a general vibe. So I’d love to...

    Coming Trotamunda: Almost Gold!

Currently, Trotamunda, my upcoming game, can officially be called Gold. Six years of development have passed, and it’s time to give it closure. The game has now moved into final editing, with the goal of completing the art and layout by mid-year. In the meantime, I’m planning to release a...
