    GPU Failures Sword Coast Legends

It crashes my display driver repeatedly, yeah. If I'm playing when this happens, it crashes the program. Apparently the programmers are still working on it.

    D&D 5E (2014) SCAG MAPS

I can't get past the hard-to-read text. Who should we be blaming for that abomination?

D&D 5E (2014) Creative ways to use spells

I once killed a BBEG with Knock. It explicitly states it will open chests, so I opened his. There is no save. My half orc companion once sliced off the fingers of an orc. I used Mage Hand to float them around. The orc began to vomit, and I then placed them in his mouth, stopping the vomit...

Here's That Official Conversion Document You've Been Waiting For!

Gonna have to agree on this. And the stuff we have been converting HAS had issues with to-hit bonuses, so altering the subtrration from 19 instead of 20 and ignoring stuf over a certain value makes sense as a guideline. We have been inverting THAC0, and it's just brutal to fight monsters with...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why is the pike 18 lbs?!?!?

But that's the boring path, why would I want to do that? It's much more amusing to see what explanations others come up with. I don't know, but it's definitely too heavy for dual wielding.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why is the pike 18 lbs?!?!?

But this one has only 10' reach. And is 18lbs. So which is it?

    D&D 5E (2014) Why is the pike 18 lbs?!?!?

Then why is a Halberd only 6 lbs? It has a much bigger head on it, and the same reach.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why is the pike 18 lbs?!?!?

No joke, in DLS1 Wild Elves, there is a sentient pike that guards a treasure area.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why is the pike 18 lbs?!?!?

Okay so I just realized an NPC in my party is encumbered because their pike, which is a maximum of 10 feet long, weighs 18 lbs. Googling says an actual pike at maximum length (25 ft) weighs 13.5 lbs. Doing the math, the D&D pike should be...33 feet long!?!? What's the deal? And what does this...

D&D 5E (2014) Miniatures, or Theater of the Mind

Miniatures and scenery, with square bases for facing (we use the DMG facing rules, but no flanking.) The grid is hell.

Whoa, we've been subtracting AC from 20, not 19, and I thought those bonuses were a bit high. I need to get this to my DM.

D&D 5E (2014) Enforcing theme/structure by saying NO to players

The tone changed, and the stories in the modules became more serious, thanks in part to all those ecology articles. What "radar"?

D&D 5E (2014) Enforcing theme/structure by saying NO to players

Man I liked Gary but I just couldn't dig that sort of self-aggrandizement in the written material. It's lame, dated humor. I'm glad some of those names have been dropped from the the spells over time. That kind of thing was all over the 1st edition modules, and the first ones I started buying...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dex-based greatsword?

I don't know what you mean by this, so don't take this the wrong way, but do you just mean options, or do you mean mechanically optimized options? Like I mentioned in a previous post, sometimes you have to give up optimization to have the character you want. My gnoll ranger uses a polearm with...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dex-based greatsword?

Mechanics aside, a big weapon that does a D10 is going to limit your mobility anyway, and you can't use your arms for balance like you can with two weapons. Fighting with dex is about quick, accurate strikes, not big hits. The idea simply works against itself.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Fighters, two-weapon fighting and extra attacks

I just want to put in that I love polearm master with my gnoll ranger, because the extra butt end attack is like I get a dagger with proficiency on the off hand. Good job explaining a complicated rule, everyone. I know every one of us at my table screwed that up and was doing silly damage from...
