    Class Acts: Feywild Wizards

That's the smartest thing I have heard WotC do for a quite a while. The CharOps folks know the rules better than the WotC professionals, IMO. It's been an untapped resource for far too long.

    Fantasy Gaming Names

I cannot stand real world names in my games. I will kill the character and, if necessary, the player because it's too easy for the game's banter ("so you're really sorcerer called John?") to break the verisimilitude. There are plenty of name generators around and I would much rather they were...

Would you pay to have adventures written for you?

    1. Why do you want to work in this field? The money sucks. The future is not bright for tabletop gaming and I'm not sure that the skills necessarily translate into other areas. You say you love gaming but how much will you love it when you (a) burn out and (b) can't pay your food and rent? 2...

    Faerzress 4e?

It dates back to 1E with D1-3, although it wasn't called faerzress (sp?) then. Remember how EGG used "weird underdark radiations" as the reason the party couldn't teleport back to the surface.

An idea for a "third" book in the Campaign Setting sets.

Yep, great idea. I hope WotC is reading... and I hope they agree.

    Favorite 4e Blogs?

Tales from the Rusty Dragon Tales from the Rusty Dragon This where a very kind fellow named Scott Betts converts the whole of The Rise of the Runelords adventure path to 4E and shares it with the rest of us. He is also about to do the same to the Curse of the Crimson Throne AP.

I love DMing, but I like playing too! :(

I basically haven't played for 27 years and I don't think I could play in a campaign because my natural inclination would be to drive the story. My friends didn't enjoy having me as a player but everyone preferred me as the DM so that's just the way it is. I wouldn't mind playing a couple of...

DM's, when do you prepare for your game?

It's one of my primary forms of relaxation so I do it anywhere, anytime, simply as the mood takes me. If I'm on a roll I will even stay home from work (it's my own business and some days my role is minor- I don't stay home if something important is happening!) and just keep tapping away. I...

web 2.0 in your rpg games

I've been gradually moving my campaign notes to obsidianportal.com and that's useful for my players in particular as a resource between sessions. I also use my laptop (actually a netbook) to flash up pictures of scenes, NPCs, monsters etc... but, in due course, I really want to move to using...

Do you lament the lack of third-party or fan material?

Like most, I don't miss the stuff for PCs simply because of the character builder. I would like to see more monster books because it is now so easy to transpose that information into the Monster Builder. And, of course, adventures and adventure paths. I think WotC is getting a lot of things...

No 4E Fan Content Allowed on the Intenet?

Woah there. I am not talking about Morrus at all. My post is clearly aimed at the guy who contacted WotC and then posted about it. His post is effectively a troll and I have posted on his website too. Please edit your post. There is explicit or implied attack on Morrus in mine at all. [Edit...

No 4E Fan Content Allowed on the Intenet?

Absolutely. Once again I stand in awe of the egregious stupidity of someone contacting WotC with loaded questions. These loaded questions are going to get bounced up to someone who is a lawyer or who at least understands the accurate legal position of WotC and it's pretty easy to know what the...

    Abyssal Genasi

I'm really impressed by the both the content and the timing. I'm running a version of Paizo's Savage Tide set in the 4E Forgotten Realms, starting in Akanul. My (renamed) version of Vanthus is a genasi (with a different name) and I've been wondering how about o reflect his corruption by the...

Modules with deicide as the plot

She was both: demon and lesser goddess so Q1 was most definitely the first adventure with deicide as its goal. Malhavoc's Requiem for a god is a 3E product that might spark some ideas.

Arbitrary thematic restrictions forcing mechanical limitations.

Maybe because it didn't occur to the designers to do? I am sure it's not an active conspiracy to ensure that no FR deity doesn't have that particular combination but I am also sure that there are many other combinations that aren't represented yet. It's easy enough to house-rule. Gond (assuming...

Arbitrary thematic restrictions forcing mechanical limitations.

Exactly. Themes do impact mechanics, as they should particularly when its come to deities. A cleric of FR's Auril, the Frostmaiden, shouldn't be tossing around fireballs (or the equivalent), IMO, because it's contrary to his deity's interests. That said, if your DM determines otherwise, no big...

Dungeon 170: Monument of the Ancients

It is a great map except for one thing... every time I see a map for FR in Dungeon or Dragon I am reminded at how unbelievably (insert your own non-grandma friendly language that is a synonym for absolute crap) the map was in the FR campaign guide.

    Chaos Scar!

Same... plus it has bullywugs. I really love 4E's bullywugs.

    sahuagin worshippers

IMC, I have sahuagin worshipping Umberlee (FR's chaotic evil goddess of oceans etc...), Dagon, Demogorgon and Sekolah. I like the races IMC to have multiple deities/patron fiends because it sets up conflict for the PCs to wander into.
