    PoL Regions

I'm really hoping that the expanded map that is rumoured to be in the boardgame will also be published as .jpg on the WotC site.

What would make for a good homebrew that adds something different?

Why not Eberron? It has all the familiar D&D tropes, has been published for 4E and also has various twists in the form of magical technology etc.... The 3.5E adventures can still be found and could be adapted into a 4E campaign stretching through to the early levels of the paragon tier. It's...

    Demonomicon: Jubilex

Great article and - surprise, surprise - TWO pieces of art! I had assumed the article had been held over. Was it published on Friday or Saturday morning? It had dropped off the content calendar so I had assumed that we would be seeing it next week.

Mike Mearls' Legends and Lore: First Impressions

You're far too kind. Legends & Lore is rubbish. It just an attempt to fill the gaping hole which is the DDi publishing schedule. This isn't about engaging the customer base; this is just about filling a hole. If these articles were actually about engaging the customer base then: 1. they would...

D&D 5E (2014) Next wave of VT invites going out sometime later

Exactly. This is basic business. The current situation is untenable because it has been the fans that have been pissed off, not the functionally illiterate 13-year olds that ruined the WotC boards three or four years ago. If the D&D brand had actual leadership, there would have been a...

D&D 5E (2014) Next wave of VT invites going out sometime later

It's a secret. Basically we will keep seeing editorials seeking feedback, promising change, blah, blah, blah until we get so tired of there being no content that we don't even notice that they have ceased publication.

Dear Wizards, I no longer have a clue what you're doing

I do like 4E, more or less, and I will continue my DDi subcription provided the new Monster Builder actually works properly. Of course, I am expecting that the version we see on 22Mar will be a motherless dog (and I will be stunned [save ends, -5 saving throw penalty] if this e-turd is cranked...

    3/14 Rule of Three

I will place large sums of money on them NOT hitting this target. DDi has never, ever, EVER met a single target, even one as imprecise as "Fall". What about the Monster Builder? Pre-MMIII it was stable and accurate then the MMIII update rather ruined things. Now it's effectively not available...

Dragon 397: Letters To The Editor Up

Once again, what for Paizo would be a messageboard post is provided by WotC as part of DDi's "content". Edit: It seems I wasn't particularly clear. This should have been a messageboard post. For Paizo it would have been a messageboard post. It should not be considered part of the "content" of...

"Budget Cuts at WotC" [humour - comic strips]

That cartoon explains so much about the e-turd versions of Dungeon and Dragon.

    Evard's Background

Why? I didn't know ixitxachitl were native to the Shadowfell?

    New Legends & Lore

My response to this article was that it was a desperate attempt to find content for the website. (Rather like Ampersand, the most pointless column in gaming.) If Paizo wanted feedback on this, Erik or James or Jason would have simply posted on a messageboard. Heck, before WotC turned Dragon and...

How much content do you want from WotC?

I want lots of content and I am happy to pay for it. I want Dragon to have articles and Dungeon to have adventures. The reality is, this isn't going to happen. I like 4E, I expect I will keep using it, but WotC in its current leader-less state is not the company that is going to deliver the...

    NOMINATE: Best RPG company.

Ditto. Everything that the current incarnation of WotC does wrong, Paizo does right: LEADERSHIP (!!!), PDFs, engagement with the customer base, etc.... I would nominate Pinnacle Entertainment Group, maker of Savage Worlds, as runner-up for similar reasons.

What RPG tool would you like to see for droid/iphone/ipad?

If Wizards ever releases a functioning Monster Builder again I would love to see that for my Samsung Tablet.

Dungeon #188 ToC is up, Juiblex!

If they're both adventures then one will be cancelled and held over until next month. There is no way that the e-turd version of Dungeon is going to publish two adventures in a single month. Great to see Demonomicon back.

    Six pieces of art?

Dungeon does not exist anymore. Its new name is Encounter.

    Runecutter's Ruin

I like it. It fits nicely with my current campaign. I can even use the art!

    Temple Names

If you have any of the "god books" for 2E Forgotten Realms you will see a huge number of names for various temples and shrines that are easy enough to steal for PoL-land. candlekeep.org also has a fairly comprehensive list: Temples of the Realms There is another list here: Gods of Faern and...

Ampersand to reveal mystery of the disappearing books (apparently)

I refuse to believe that Ampersand will ever be used to demonstrate anything resembling leadership or engagement with the D&D customer base. It exists only so Bill can tell us how important he is and because he is so important he knows about all these things he cannot tell us about. And that's all.
