Does it say what happens to the old body? That could be a great way to convince people the old wizard died if the old body stays around.

Does the spell move your conscous into the new body? If it doesn't then your character is still dying and then you just have an NPC copy of him.

The class only works if you are going to do merchant type things. They might have done it this way so it can work in basic D&D, and first and second edition AD&D. The cover does specify that it is compatible with all that.

Multi classing yes unless is turns out to be something different then we are thinking. I find the secret to make sure people don't multi class to abuse the rules is to not play with those people. Feats are a no at this time.

I'd stick with what fits. The system is a bit inexact so just create how you feel it should be and then see how it works out in play.

I'd make it a minor artifact so that it would be unique and no chance of others getting one. I'd let her research it and go on a quest for it. Having something like this earned I think makes it more important in the game and feel like reward. Maybe she would have to journey to the giants land...
