If you want to make armor actually be armor, then it needs damage reduction.

Part of the problem is that scimitar is set up wrong. The saber, also known as a backsword, should be the d6 damage slashing and piercing finesse weapon. The scimitar should be a d8 weapon.

This is what I wanted for Custom Lineage. For the new edition, they should line racial traits by relative power level and allow you to pick back and for as you go down the column with the caveat that your DM has to approve it as it will not be perfectly balanced in all cases.
