You haven't read the Greyhawk section...have you? You are literally describing it in each of your posts stating what you would want.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

The nature of the internet... Uhm... they gave both and I think if you're giving an example of a setting to illustrate how you create one... you should show both (especially since starting at a high or low level is equally valid) a high level world/continent overview and a starting...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

I'm a little confused on what I've heard around TotV monsters. Mainly that the monsters at lower CR's were made to hit harder. Was this a problem that needed solving? I'm playing a 2024 game that just started and while the PC's feel like they have more options than in 2014 (and this could...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

I would say there's a pretty strong argument that having an actual campaign setting in the core books makes it a more complete game than having rules to create monsters... especially with the number of monsters provided.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

And for me since I rarely if ever created a monster from scratch in 5e... I prefer to have the bastion rules, Greyhawk (since a few of my players are finally ready to dip their toe into DM'ing) and more ready to play/modifiable monsters.

Why would you assume this. There are people expecting all kinds of things from WotC without any reason to. We don't actually know is pretty much the only correct answer. So your point is if you buy another book you'll get more than 85 monsters? You should have to buy another book for some more...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

You can still buy it and by the time it's unavailable we may have a book of options replacing it... it could be available via DM's Guild or some other method. The point is if you really want those options in a DMG they are easy to get a hold of.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

Seeing as the game functioned fine without them... I think it was more than marketing gimmick. Also... I'm not sure what relevance what you personally saw them as has on whether they were a marketing gimmick or not....

Some did... some didn't. What were the many points of DM interaction for using Honor... or Hero Points... or how about any of the proficiency variants. You're selectively choosing options to fit your narrative. See above. Well if your players treat you as a waiter I feel sorry for you. On the...

Bounded accuracy and variant monster stat blocks will help with this.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

No it doesnt feel out of place it's part of worldbuilding and campaign design... all under the purview of the DM. Edit: What felt out of place was the "optional" feats stuck smack in the middle of the main rulebook for the game, accessible to players regardless of whether the DM wanted them in...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

Yes it could and? A Mass Battle System is no more or less valid than the Bastions system... my point is I'm glad they did something different and new as opposed to a direct updated reprint.   It's an optional system the DM decides whether to include that is mainly utilized by players... which...

Zero? How are you coming to that conclusion when there have been players asking for and designing variants of already created monsters since 2014? The fact is you don't know. You're right... we don't know but through DnD Beyond WotC has more data than we do around this... which means I'd bet...

Nah I'm good... its something I don't already have in my 2014 books (which are still available for purchase from a multitude of places.).

Noticed by what percentage of their playerbase? Better yet what percentage of their playerbase actually used the creation rules vs. Grabbing a pre-made, reskinning or slightly modifying monsters? Which is to say 10 pages of rules you know are only used by less than x percent of your playerbase...

Eh, I'd bet more pre-made monsters and variations on monsters are much more useful to your typical DM. Especially if they can be easily re-skinned. In fact I'd also bet that your typical DM rarely if ever creates monsters from scratch. Of course this is all just my conjecture that said WotC...

So it would be loot as opposed to gear. I'm actually thinking having the gear entry is an elegant way of quickly calling out what equipment a monster/NPC has that can be used by PC's. I like it more now than I did at first as it serves a clear purpose for something that has come up often enough...

Because it's easy to see, reference and harder to forget about when it's in the statblock... especially if the monster is using it... How do Level up and Nord Press accomplish this "right"?
