Pathfinder 2E Here's The Pathfinder 2nd Edition Skill List!

How many action movies do you watch? That doesn't seem to be a very tight rule. Forget physics; if we want the bus to jump the gap, the bus will jump the gap, and if we want the hero to walk away from the explosion all cool-like, they'll walk away from the explosion all cool-like, no matter how...

Pathfinder 2E Here's The Pathfinder 2nd Edition Skill List!

When something works, why change it? Innovation for innovation's sake is not what people expect from the second edition of Pathfinder, or really the second edition of any game.

Pathfinder 2E Here's The Pathfinder 2nd Edition Skill List!

Isn't it much more important to the believability that in five years, she's gone from a nobody to being one of the most powerful beings on the planet? Yes, she's a much better farmer, too, but that seems to be missing the forest for the trees. Pathfinder isn't concerned about realism in this...

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

In Pathfinder, you can take the Sage wildblooded bloodline, and you could stack that with Crossblooded. Or in any system, simply ask the GM for an exception. I can't say "Charisma should be a dump stat!" is a terribly convincing argument, though.

    Echohawk's Collector's Guides Index

They don't link into any working wiki for me; I just get "Corrupted Content Error The site at http://www.enworld.org/forum/showwiki.php?title=Spelljammer Collectors Guide has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired." with Firefox version 59.

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

Certainly there's a bunch of minor modifications that could be done to it. Spell points, I don't think, are among the options that would satisfy its player base. From Pathfinder 2E's perspective, D&D 5E's wizard solution has the problem that everyone will say that they're just copying 5E. (Only...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

"Please tell me, what is your bra size?" That's a politely worded request. It's one that's clearly, massively inappropriate. In the right context, it could well be a nasty personal attack. We're discussing sexual harassment, and you don't have a clue why that behavior might be inappropriate on...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

Because way too many cases where something was treated as a cancer to society end with series of executions of people who aren't ideologically pure until a coup sets up a stable and at least relatively less brutal regime? That is the topic, the conversation. I'm not sure what gives you the...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

I can't find it on this page, but it's still in my list of replies to me, so: If you build your argument out of straw, you hurt everyone on your side when the wolves come in and blow it away. Of course there needs to be a standard of evidence to believe anything. Believing any allegations of...

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

One of the arguments is that New Coke being preferred in focus testing does not equal New Coke being preferred in real life, that the tests did not match the experience of drinking a whole bottle, and possibly more importantly, just because abstractly New Coke was better at being Brand X than...

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

That is baking it into the system. That's an ad-hoc method of having separate pools of spell points, at which point the best direction is the sorcerer, which is not really a spell point system. If you have good general-purpose high-level spells, characters will use up all their points on their...

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

Yet saying that Vancian casting is "something that is clearly reminiscent of D&D, that's one of the notable features of the game among RPGs, and that our {Pathfinder's} audience strongly rejected when it was removed in 4E" is still true. The fact that it's been in the game for two decades is a...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

Oh, please. Now anyone discussing the philosophical questions underpining the discussion is against you and should attacked instead of responded to? I wasn't even talking about law; I was talking about evidence, and how we use it to build a conclusion.

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

There have been many standards for ladies over the years, and few of them have encouraged women to mingle in male spaces, especially unescorted. I'm pretty sure an actual Lady, an actual member of the nobility with proper claim to that title, historically would not go anywhere unescorted. A...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

That's an entirely different discussion, though. Yes, if someone is rich enough or famous enough, they can sometimes literally get away with murder. That's not an argument about murder as much as how we treat the rich and famous. And that's part of the reason for discussion like this one, so...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

There's not necessarily a jury, though; if the judge makes the final call, there is no third party involved, and he's in the same shoes as when he orders the jury to ignore testimony; you can file away and ignore, but not forget. Not "if it's used", but "if it can be shown to have been used"...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

So you're saying that employers must hire someone unless there's proof that they're going to be a bad fit? Microsoft doesn't have the right to ask you for evidence that you're a good programmer, they must assume it unless they can prove otherwise? Why should they let serial harassers come to...

Harassment Policies: New Allegations Show More Work To Be Done

Yes, the standards are more relaxed. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a "evidentiary standard", but I don't see an alternative. If you want or need to know whether something is true, there's not really another choice besides applying the evidence available to you. If someone makes a serious...

Let's Take A Look At Pathfinder 2's Deities & Domains!

Removing Vancian spellcasting is not "every change"; it's a change that's been argued over for 30 years. "We're exploring new directions" is entirely different from "we're going to remove something that is clearly reminiscent of D&D, that's one of the notable features of the game among RPGs, and...
