D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Fighter: The Zouave

Dude the modern players can’t even figure out thAC0 or rolling under for a check, or comprehend that everything doesn’t have to profess at the same rate. Spell level not being the same as class level or character level confuses them.

D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Fighter: The Zouave

I really like building encounters that are not solved with die rolls. I think many are just too dependent on that.

    When Brands Play Games

GI Joe would make a good modern setting to be based on d&d Ruleset. Maybe rework the class and replace the wizard and magic with a high tech Gadgeteer. Although there was some magic in the cartoon here and there.

D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Fighter: The Zouave

People act like the fighter doesn’t get 4 skills like everyone else, 5 of human. And a feat if you use them just might help with that too.

D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Fighter: The Zouave

D&D sucks at chase sequences and scenarios. I would kill to see good rules for it. Never liked any system proposed in d&d or pathfinder. but I’m also trying to figure out a cool way to do motorcycle combat

Every edition did something right. And that’s not an insult to 4E. There are good ideas to mine from everything.

Agree it makes it impossible to run a stealth mission without group skill check. I like it. It’s more like the skilled stealth people coaching and helping the others through.

D&D 5E (2014) Mechanics you don't want to see, ever

I think all you would have to do to make alignment language relevant in 5E would be to expand on the languages like abyssal and infernal. Infernal is LE, abyssal is CE. Expand celestial into 3 different languages. Add a new one for the different planes. And then make it so that if you are not...

D&D 5E (2014) What Seven Classes Would You Keep? (and why!)

Which makes cleric a Druid and therefore redundant as a class. You are a genius.

D&D 5E (2014) Fixing the Fighter: The Zouave

Group stealth checks work great for this kind of thing. There is a nice section on group skill checks somewhere can’t remember where that I found worked great.

D&D 5E (2014) Mechanics you don't want to see, ever

I do find it odd that people can deal with wizards, fairies, demons, magic potions, mystic wells, gods and pantheons, but alignment as a language is just too much. Especially when lawful good is a place and lawful evil is a place in the game. Literal places in the game.

D&D 5E (2014) Mechanics you don't want to see, ever

I really wouldn’t mind an adaptation of 13th age spell slots. It would need some tweaking. But, it’s a more pragmatic solution to casting a 1st level spell at 20th level that does 3d6 which is a joke at that level.

D&D 5E (2014) Mechanics you don't want to see, ever

Yes. There are some incomplete rules on playing without miniatures that describe how to do spells without miniatures. I would like to see some additional clarity on this in a few other areas.

It’s easier to just ask the guy to leave and get on with the game.
