I agree about the limitations of the iPad. I've become a complete PDF convert since owning my tablet but only insofar as an initial rules read-through or for background products. I can't see myself trying to actually DM from one.

Depicting a woman this way isn't necessarily bad but depicting all of them that way is, frankly, archaic. Obviously, the opposite is also true: depicting all men as ubermensch heroes is equally ridiculous.

Have they really been terrible? I'll agree Seoni can fall into this category and might be over used as a marketing tool. I've also heard the ARG has some bad art in it but I have no interest in it as a product so I've never read it.

My personal criticism of these two covers relates to the highly awkward poses of the female characters rather than their lack of attire. Perhaps ironically, given the content of this thread, my first reaction is "why is she falling over?" rather than "hubba! hubba!" I can't comment on the rest...

As someone born and bred in England I'm inclined to agree. I've never been to the USA, much less lived there, so my opinion is obviously distorted by the lens of the media but my eyebrow is often raised by some of the objections raised in certain quarters. Things like that, for example.

I disagree that there are no exemplars of RPGs that can be set aside from more "mundane" examples from the point of view of their styling and production. I'd cite the two I mentioned earlier, LotFP and AS&SH, for example. Not that I'm claiming either are worthy of actually being in a museum...

But are any of them good design?
