You can carry your Two-Handed weapon in one hand when your not wielding it, right? So could you keep a Shield armed at all times, negating it's +2 AC when you swing your 2-H, but keeping it if you don't make an Attack?

That's what I assumed. But after that 1st round, subsequent Bonus Actions could be dedicated to Martial Arts and Shillelagh would still be in effect and it's not Concentration, so with a decent WIS/DEX build its seems like a viable combo--but Hell's Bell's, I'm really just looking for Style over...

Curious what y'all think about Quarterstaves vs. Wands as Spellcasting Foci (and really Rods and Orbs as well). Is it just me not reading the PHB right, but it seems as if the Quarterstaff is the only Weapon which doubles as a Spellcasting Focus. What's the thought on a Club as a Wand or Rod Focus?

Qwik query on the board's thoughts on Game Balance regarding this potential Fighting Style home-brew: Versatile--Whilst wielding a Shield and a Versatile weapon you may take -1 to AC til the beginning of your next turn to deal Versatile Damage. Or some such language.
