    D&D 5E (2014) Disintegrate Vs. Druid

In hindsight, they should have implemented save or die affects. Tying these things to hit points just opens up a can of worms and make s the game more complex or at least more convoluted.

D&D 5E (2014) Could we do with one more skill?

History is not way out there when considering engineering, because science is all about what is written down in books, so the next person learning it can build off what was discovered in the past. You see something similar with dwarfs with stonework. And then you can use investigation to...

D&D 5E (2014) Take enemy weapon with Mage Hand

I would only let mage hand work on objects that are not controlled or secured by another being or fastened. Otherwise, how to do figure out the strength of a grip, or fastener? If a bow or similar object can stay on a person through combat or other strenuous activity then I do not believe a mage...

    New Issue of Dragon+

If it is free I prefer it be released via PDF. I don't need to install another app on my phone or tablet. And besides the crunch there is nothing that interests me.

    D&D 5E (2014) I don't want to homebrew anymore...

I have some of those concerns but for different reasons. I always looked forward to the next thing in regards to D&D, but when WOTC decided to re-hash the forgotten realms, and go back to some of the old truisms like the simple fighter for 5E. Which also included going back on the decision to...

D&D 5E (2014) Miniatures, or Theater of the Mind

I believe most tables are hybrids, even if they use miniatures. To make the survey meaningful you would have to ask which tables do not use miniatures. The next category may be who does not use miniatures, but still use some type of aid like art, pictures, or paper. And then of course there will...

D&D 5E (2014) Persuade, Intimidate, and Deceive used vs. PCs

Acting in accordance to what is written on a piece of paper for a PC or NPC is one of the hardest parts of the game and the most rewarding. The are a host of things that can ruin it like external bias, meta-gaming, or simply being a d***. Assuming that is not a problem, then one skill roll...

D&D 5E (2014) Persuade, Intimidate, and Deceive used vs. PCs

That is how I would handle it. But I would leave it at appears to be trustworthy.

D&D 5E (2014) The Official Poll! What THREE things do you like most about D&D 5th Edition?

I like some of the mechanics that are more universal like backgrounds or proficiencies. I also like the focus on speed of play where you do not have to deal with alot of interrupts or exceptions. However that is countered by some of the iconsistencies in the game when having to deal with...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you regain INT after an Intellect Devourer attack?

Whatever you do, I hope it is obvious you will need to research similar monster abilities in the future and plan an out, cure or for the demise of a character. You could use a condition track if 5E has it (I don't own the DM guide), or a series of failed death saving throws before ability damage...

    D&D 5E (2014) Levelling NPCs?

I am not offering a solution for how to level a NPC, but I would consider the consequences of leveling NPCs, because whatever challenge rating is assumed later on in the adventure will have to be adjusted. That includes granting NPCs magic items. Therefore, I would just consider the NPC drain on...

D&D 5E (2014) Enforcing theme/structure by saying NO to players

As it applies against standard races, classes, feats, spells, etc. in the PHB for any edition, my experience is the best thing that works for both sides of the table is a willingness to compromise. And with 5E being very simple and abstract, I would not find it hard to re-skin certain concepts...

D&D 5E (2014) With the reintroduction of PrCs which are on your 'must see' list?

I am afraid that releasing PRCs at this point would lessen the chances of seeing pure classes like the shaman, warlord, or any class from 4E for that matter. PRCs will further dilute what is left in order to make new classes.

D&D 5E (2014) Are players always entitled to see their own rolls?

I think the prime directive of the DM is to get everyone to participate in the story, and whether you have secret rolls or not plays second fiddle to allowing the broadest application of skills as possible. So don't get stuck as a DM on only one type of skill being able to unlock a portion of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Fighters Still Suck?

My main complaint with the fighter is versatility with the champion fighter being dead last, and the battlemaster needing more maneuvers. I am not sure why the eldritch knight is not it's own class, with other subclasses like a swordmage or even an avenger. So overall there should be maneuvers...

Last D&D Survey Results In! Plus What's Up With The Ranger?

I don't like the 2d6 hit points, and I like a permanent pet and a favored enemy that can adapt for each combat. It does not mean it has to be the same for each combat so there is still some skill involved.

Nice, it could also be a concept based on Qigong.

D&D 5E (2014) Open Interpretation Inspirational Healing Compromise.

To be honest, I was never hung up on the term Warlord, but at the same time it fit the concept fine from my perspective. Hell you could even have a warlord class, with a battlemaster, packmaster, or even artificer subclass ala help people, beasts and/or objects.

    D&D 5E (2014) Disintegrate Vs. Druid

Good Luck. We are all counting on you. Since it is a hit point determination type spell (wide open to interpretation), you will have to poke you eyes out to see the truth. But did you really poke you eyes out, or was it a mere flesh wound.

D&D 5E (2014) Open Interpretation Inspirational Healing Compromise.

Sound is a rudimentary power source that predates the written word and has existed long before man worshiped the first gods.
