D&D 5E (2014) My Five Favorite Things From Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep

This is an extremely weird hill to wanna die on but hey, it’s your time to waste if you wanna be pedantic (and yet still incorrect) about it. You’re just gonna have to do it with someone else. I have better things to do with my time, like sleep.

D&D 5E (2014) My Five Favorite Things From Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep

I mean, not in that block below but that’s because he’s the project lead. This was his concept and idea. He brought the base idea and the people in the writer section are the ones who helped to flesh out the different areas of the adventure. But you somehow mean to imply that because he’s not...

D&D 5E (2014) My Five Favorite Things From Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep

Where are you getting this idea that he’s not credited from? They’ve never said or implied anything of the sort.

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Literally was only a matter of time. Well… there we have it folks. All the proof we need that it’s a scam.

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Yeah this is very true. I didn’t think I could find a group of people less educated on a topic/more dishonest about what they were trying to push than GamerGaters back circa 2014-2016 or so, but I was proven wrong. Plus ça change, I guess…

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

My mentions are still unusable today because they’re still going in those threads even though I tapped out last night.

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Yeaaah I remember that guy. He thought he should be reimbursed lol. Everyone wants an unregulated financial system until they get the rug pulled out from under them. Then they demand security! 🙃 And this wasn’t even a rug pull. They still got their “items.”

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

I had a guy ask me today “wouldn’t you prefer your Chaosium books appreciate in value rather than depreciate?” I told him since I have no intentions to sell them it literally does not matter either way to me. He could NOT comprehend that I felt that way. Just sad and rather scary.

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

Exactly. They don’t grasp that it’s the destructive tech we object to, not the idea of it existing. If NFTs were 100% clean and didn’t interface with crypto/blockchain stuff? Knock yourself out. Trade all day. Have fun. But that’s not how this works. And “carbon offsets” are just handwaving...

    Chaosium Suspends NFT Plans

I spent so much wasted time on Twitter today slapfighting these clowns in that thread, almost none of which seemed to know what Chaosium actually makes and sells. The one guy who got closest seemed to think they sold board games. Most of them just evaded or didn’t answer when pressed. Every...

D&D 5E (2014) Call of the Netherdeep Delayed To 5th April in Europe

Worth letting you know that if you preorder on Amazon, they give you the lowest price it gets to between when you ordered and when it releases. So there’s no reason to not order early if you know you’re gonna want it. Nothing lost.

WotC WotC Makes Over $1B In 2021!

Don’t tell the internet that! I heard from very well informed (read: loudly obnoxious) sources that WotC was on the brink of ruin and nuTSR v. 4 was going to buy them out and make everyone go back to Elf and Dwarf being a class! 😜

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

Watched the first two episodes early last night as one of the Kickstarter backers and some of the fears I had about it from watching separate disconnected clips melted away when it was presented as a whole (for the record, like 90% of those preview clips you can find online are from the first...

Official News Level Up: Now on FOUNDRY VTT!

Super cool to see this getting Foundry support since that’s where I do most of my online play these days! Well done!

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces New Critical Role Hardcover Adventure

They're not gonna do a full Marquet book until at least a year or two into C3 I don't think, just from a spoiler perspective, the same way they did with EGtW.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces New Critical Role Hardcover Adventure

I mean it just seems like a no-brainer to me, right? I just saw so much idle speculation online in general that having their own press imprint meant that EGtW was CLEARLY only gonna be a one-off thing, or that CR's C3 was going to jump ship from 5e and switch to another system or game entirely...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces New Critical Role Hardcover Adventure

So I gotta say, I fully didn't expect a CR release to be today's drop by any stretch. I know a lot of people were speculating that they'd only do future book releases via their Darington Press imprint but seeing as this ties into the Far Realm and other WotC IP I guess I shouldn't be too...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces New Critical Role Hardcover Adventure

Why would it? This is an adventure, not a setting - so there's no reason it would dip into the "Classic settings" pool. Might it push the timeline for it? Who knows. But it's not eating Dark Sun's slot lunch as it were.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Explains 'Canon' In More Detail

I mean that point was made over and over and over again during the other thread but it didn’t seem to be enough for some folks. There was so very much ridiculous hyperbole going on claiming that WotC had active hatred and contempt for fans or that this was like being spat on or whatever else. I...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Is Designing Adventures With Shorter Content Chunks

IMO I can see 2-3 hours working fine for online sessions because of the relatively low overhead in terms of getting everyone together. If my in-person sessions ran 2-3? After spending two weeks trying to wrangle schedules and some players having to commute a half hour or more plus time spent...
