Thanks for the recommendations I'll take a look at those. I think there is also space for tools that focus on building a city or city adventure and also ones for running games set in them (or helping to run at least)

I'll take a look. Savage worlds is a great system which I've used for Deadlands, a fantasy campaign (after deciding DnD 4th wouldn't work) and a Transformers one-shot.

It sounds like the group is in a rut. Could you try a few sessions of "theatre of the mind" to shake things up a bit? See how much your players (and you) miss the terrain and minis. Maybe follow up with a discussion about how much it means to you.
